What's a coding shortcut most developers don't know ?

@The_V11 Why we talking like Reaxt is different from NextJs. NextJs is a react framework. The problem is if you choose to go vanilla React you end up building your own flavour of NextJs. So I guess save yourself sometime.

For a modern project, would you choose React or Next.js for the frontend ? If the backend is separate, is there still a reason to use Next.js over React ? I think using NextJS over React.

I love Rust

@unclebobmartin We briefly piloted this at 1771. Too many false flags and wasted time. We found the AI only capable of understanding simplest pieces of code but it could never see the bigger picture.

reviewing PRs with agents takes SO MUCH of the drudgery out of it.

@vponamariov Question for my non-UX brain. Do icons even really help that much for menus?

UI/UX Tip 💡 You don't need an icon for every menu item. Especially when: • They're barely visible • They don't match the label • Half of them look the same Sometimes a clean list of text is more scannable than a wall of tiny, unclear icons.

@kettanaito Nowadays it feels like a battle against AI, but I do miss the days where we argued about the best approaches to do different things. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong sources.

Software is a battle of opinions. I don't like how you designed X, I'll build Y. Every somewhat successful software company is precisely that. Most of open-source projects are precisely that. It's humans to the core, bringing their expertise, touch, and taste.

@UiSavior List view for me. Sometimes I just like a little white space. Lets me know what to focus on. Also scanning top to bottom is easier than scanning left and right then top to bottom.

Tanstack: why is difficulty to find docs about @tan_stack workflow library from the website directly? Also not listed among the list of libraries?? I literally had to hack to get the link: tanstack.com/workflow/latest

@muskaan___07 All of them, but Rust or Go probably going to grow the most. Python and JS are already the most widely used.

Be honest, which one is actually worth learning in 2026?

@leebeydoun Zustand comes with a ton of great features like custom storages and migrations. Afaik, native Solid store doesn't do that and, likely, for the better. I rely on those features heavily.

I have a medium-sized form-heavy app and I have 0 createEffect. That's the beauty of Solid.
