BREAKING: Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello just BURIED Trump’s Freedom 250 concerts under an avalanche of rock legends. Donald Trump's Great American State Fair — his big musical celebration of America's 250th birthday — features Vanilla Ice, a version of Milli Vanilli whose original member died in 1998, and Bret Michaels of Poison. Artists have been fleeing it since the day it was announced. Tom Morello just answered with the Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, System of a Down's Serj Tankian, Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard, Run-DMC's Darryl McDaniels, and Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron. The contrast could not be more devastating. Morello's Power to the People Festival will take place on October 3rd at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland — exactly one month before the midterm elections — with any of a dozen acts on the bill capable of selling out the venue by themselves. Springsteen, who just finished his protest-heavy Land of Hope and Dreams Tour under FBI protection due to death threats from Trump supporters, announced the festival from the stage at Nationals Park on the tour's closing night. The festival will include a "Freedom Village" — an immersive space for civic engagement, grassroots organizing, mutual aid, and social impact initiatives. A portion of ticket proceeds, and 100 percent of VIP ticket sales, go directly to pro-democracy organizations VoteRiders and HeadCount. Trump's concert was paid for by Boeing, Shell, Toyota, and Royal Caribbean — companies regulated by his own cabinet. Morello's festival is funding voter registration. Trump's lineup includes an act whose original member died in 1998, a rapper whose last hit was in 1990, and a Celebrity Apprentice winner. Morello's lineup includes living legends who are actively touring, recording, and selling out arenas worldwide. Young MC fled Trump's concert because nobody told him it was political. C+C Music Factory's frontman stayed while saying on camera that he doesn't "f--- with Trump." Morris Day simply posted, "It's a no from me." Meanwhile, Springsteen announced his participation in the Power to the People event from a sold-out stadium in Washington DC during his “Land Of Hope & Dreams” tour. This is what the resistance sounds like. And it sounds a whole lot better than "Ice Ice Baby." In response to @Helen_Whately The continued demonization of the most vulnerable members of our society for political point scoring has to stop. On Sky News this morning you bumbled your way through an interview in which you described anxiety as a 'low level mental health condition' and said people suffering from it shouldn't qualify for PIP. I don't receive PIP, but I know a thing or two about anxiety, and there's nothing 'low level' about people who get PIP because of it. Mild anxiety isn't a qualifying condition for PIP. As a former senior RASSO detective I've seen rape survivors become so crippled with anxiety they can't leave their homes. Men and women whose entire lives were stolen from them because someone decided to violate their very essence. I buried my brother when he took his life because he couldn't cope with the anxiety that haunted his every waking hour. You were asked to clarify if all sufferers from anxiety would be denied PIP. After twice being told it's okay to say you didn't know, if you didn't, you said yes, anxiety 'on it's own' wouldn't be a qualifying condition. You further claimed that anxiety sufferers don't incur 'additional expenses' so therefore their condition doesn't meet the original purpose of PIP. You clearly don't understand the disease, and it IS a disease, if you believe that. Ironically, comments like those you so glibly threw out at the public this morning will serve only to worsen the condition of those sufferers who will, despite knowing there's no prospect of you ever being anything other than Shadow Secretary, now become ever more affected. MPs earn an obscene £98,599 a year. On top of that you receive staffing costs, office costs, travel costs and accommodation costs. The very least the public is entitled to expect from any 'duly elected' Member of Parliament is they understand they have a duty of care that, as a minimum, requires them to understand the subjects they're making policy decisions about. There are far too many politicians currently running with the narrative that people with a disability, whether it's physical or psychological, are a drain on our finances. Nobody chooses to be disabled, stop punching down on those who sadly are.

Three problems, Rob: it's not a mosque (it's a food bank with a small prayer room), it wasn't a consecrated church (it was an old school building), and it doesn't serve any faith exclusively. The one thing genuinely destroyed at the site was a digger torched by arsonists who'd swallowed the exact "it's becoming a mosque" myth you're reposting. The C of E condemned the attack. Maybe read past the headline next time.
