@TaylorRMarshall @MrCasey62 If you can’t believe in transubstantiation - can you believe water into wine? Lazarus raised from the dead? Immaculate conception? The resurrection?

@TaylorRMarshall Was it symbolic or literal when Jesus had the first supper with the disciples in the upper room - BEFORE he was even crucified? You know, when he gave the command in the first place?

@ProvisionistP Did God know for certain before you typed that sentence out that you would make that exact statement? If God knew for certain that you would, was it already determined that you would? Could you have done anything else other than what the Omniscient God knew you would do?

@ProvisionistP @MatthewDePra Christ died to receive the wrath of God, and to FULLY pay for the sins of HIS people. A completed transaction as Jesus Himself said, "It is finished". Provisionists say it is not a completed transaction, and still must be finished by individual men.

Provisionist Perspective 🩸🌍
Rejection of judicial imputation/declaration of sin and righteousness is not a rejection of the Gospel.

This seems confusing ... does God draw by teaching, and God simply does not teach the truth to those he does not draw? Or does everyone know the truth, and only those God ontologically changes to desire salvation are able to "come?" Are you arguing those whom God does not ontologically change cannot understand the truth?

Calvinists, If “no one can come unless the father draws him”, Does God draw all people? If not, do all people have what it takes to come and be saved?

@dfziklag @rootcausesleuth @yesiwetmyplants Your second point is closest. The whole counsel of scripture says man is enslaved to sin from birth (Rom 3 & 8). God's truth is plainly displayed in His creation (Rom 1) and his word as we proclaim it. But John 6:44 tells us God draws by teaching and His sheep learning.

@BarackObama You are proud that, even though ACA covers preexisting conditions, it's now more unaffordable than ever? Yes, you are, because you wanted to force single payer down our throats where the Fed decides all our medical decisions for us. Way to go.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

This is even more evidently true if libertarian free will is likewise true, because if God predetermined mankind’s sinful choices (by whatever means), then the determination of mankind’s decision to follow Christ unto salvation is no more or less “miraculous” (of God’s doing) than the manner in which He determined mankind’s decision to sin in the first place.

@Soteriology101 Leighton believes sanctification means instant perfect understanding of all doctrinal issues; he refuses to accept sanctification is a long process where we are refined. Either that or he is being dishonest in this statement he has made ad-nauseum.

Translation: God predetermined me to interpret the Bible Calvinistically and He predetermined many other Christians to interpret the Bible incorrectly, if Calvinism is true. If Calvinism is an error, however, I mistakenly interpreted the Bible and it’s completely my fault for doing so. #QuestionBegging #Fallacy

@rootcausesleuth This is my non-Calvinist hill I'm willing to die on. God desires all to be saved. There is no God behind the back of Jesus. There are no secret wills or decretive wills. Jesus was weeping over Jerusalem. It wasn't divine theater.

@rootcausesleuth @yesiwetmyplants It's not "for the simple reason that he doesn't draw them". It's because they are slaves to their sin. Of all that are enslaved to their sin, God draws and teaches all those He gives to the son. It isn't everyone, only those he effectively teaches (John 6).

@yesiwetmyplants Ok. Am I understanding you corrrctly, Missy: Some people just CAN’T come to God, for the simple reason that he doesn’t draw them. Bc Oz has told me explicitly that reformed teaching is that all have sufficient grace to come.

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.

@1984_nate Genesis 50 shreds your strawman argument. God decreed for Joseph's brothers to sell him into slavery. Joseph's brothers really wanted to see him into slavery. Both did what they intended to do.

As if anything can go against the decree. This is called a distinction without any real difference. Most Calvinists have already been duped and are a lost cause but for those still on the fence, see it for what it is, unbiblical nonsense.
Jon Bowlin@_jonbowlin

There is no dilemma. Calvin on the left is referring to God’s decree while on the right, he is referring to the prescriptive will of God which calls and invites all men to repent and believe. Both things that Calvin says here are true.

True humility doesn’t come from realizing that God chose you before He even created you. True humility comes from the realization that God chose to show you grace despite every rebellious choice you’ve freely made against His perfect will for your life. What an incredible, undeserved mercy. 🙏

@1984_nate Because we don't believe you have to have a perfect understanding of the nature of salvation to be saved. If your view is true, why not tell people God isn't powerful enough to save them and he needs their help?

If Calvinism is true & God has already elected who will be saved and nothing can thwart that, then why won't Calvinists just be completely honest when evangelizing? Why not tell the full truth, that you might or might not be elect and you will believe when God regenerates you?

Does it teach or imply in the Bible that God wanted Adam to sin That God arranged things just so, so that Adam would sin So that God could show how great he is?
