If you have a few minutes to spare, I was on @BBCLookEast this evening, discussing VJ Day 80, East Anglian regiments and units in the Far East, and the Atomic Bombs, with @susiefowlerwatt

@CopMoustache People hate the fact the police have a good pension they also conveniently overlook the fact you pay a big 11 or now 12% into it for decades

Serious post for a change Retired cops, you’ll be getting a letter in the next few weeks asking if you want to remain on the old scheme or go to the new one You HAVE to chose one or in 12 months you will automatically be transferred to the new one and charged £K’s in tax

An old police colleague had to resign few years ago re an incident at work. The IOPC pushed it to go to trial . Not guilty . Evidence has come to light of IOPC corruption internally prior to the trial . I kid you not . Can’t say any more than that at this stage . They will be seeking compensation as perverted course of justice and defamation of character . Their case is solid …. KNOW YOUR ENEMY!!!!!

I had the privilege of talking to @BernardRix of @policingtv recently about my involvement in the @CopsAgainst pension campaign, my troubled relationship with policing and my decision to leave. Please have a listen and if you think I have qualities which would benefit your organisation, then please feel free to contact. youtu.be/idr95fqLrUo?si…

So the draft of the incredible new Dunkirk drama "Not A Foot Back" is done and we're just shuffling maps and images... it is FREAKIN' AMAZING and easily the best book I've ever written or read. Myself and co-author @Digital_Sapper were actually sobbing, it was so good!!

They just don’t get it do they? What gives the CEO or the Board the right to dictate when a claimant of discrimination and repeat victimisation ‘moves on?’ We have reached a financial settlement, which was deemed reasonable by Leigh Day who are officers to the court and have an obligation to resolve disputes and seek to reasonably avoid costly and lengthy litigation, but like many have said from the start, this runs deeper than a financial settlement. The hurt, anger, betrayal and loss of trust cannot be bought by a couple of thousand pounds injury to feelings. It needs a constant commitment to rebuilding relationships by showing the membership you have changed or are seriously committed to changing. In this area, I have seen little to no evidence or progress, in fact in some areas the organisation has rolled back on itself and become less transparent, open and honest in its interactions with members and its own representatives. I’m sure many feel the same way. Finalising the financial settlement may be a line in the sand for the organisation and an opportunity to absolve themselves of their abhorrent treatment and whitewashing of the claimants feelings…. But for many, there’s a long long way for @PFEW_HQ to go before it recaptures the trust of those they betrayed and actively fought against for years.

Today my 17-year career in policing comes to an end, as I head to pastures new. Thank you to all the wonderful people I have worked with, who embody public service and who I’m proud to call friends. I’ve had a varied and rewarding career, and now’s the time to try something new.

Popped into work today to collect my #CoronationMedal to get it sent off with the others for Court mounting so I can get it back in time for the memorial service at the end of the month (and yes they put the ribbon the same length as the others when mounted) 😊😊👍
