that would be the dream, yes but for now - smart contracts - they are a huge step forward for sure. the trouble is knowing whether a contract itself is safe, and whether the UI you're using to interact with it is safe. hoping the future will bring us closer to a more seamless experience

Security is and must always be number one. Always. The core purpose of a platform is to provide a safe, trusted escrow system for exchange of goods and money. If the platform fails to ensure safety of user's goods or identity, then it has failed. Everything beyond that is secondary. Visibility cannot be fixed because of simple maths - supply exceeds demand by an order of magnitude, in all creative industries. If we want a promoter, an agent, a gallery to do our marketing for us then we must find one willing to work with us and wave goodbye to a much higher percentage of the sale price. Verified identity for artists is difficult in a culture that values anonymity. I value my privacy highly, and am perfectly capable of doing my own marketing and building my own tools or deploying my own contract if required. I would not use a platform that expected me to KYC. Once KYC is required, you lose half the space on principle and another large segment based on their geographic location or personal circumstances which mean that they cannot be doxxed online.
