Why can’t the NFL run its play clock like the NBA runs its shot clock so it buzzes when it hits zero and everyone knows time is up? I don’t understand why the NFL allows an extra beat after the clock hits zero. Zero is zero, right?

@denim_suit @steve_urman @richeisen It is. How do you go from 3 to 2? 3,2.9,2.8 all the way down. Same as 1, 0.9,0.8,0.7 down to 0.0. NFL clock is old so the just go down by the whole numbers and the extra time after 0 is for 0.9-0.0
