@PedanticKilljoy I think its a missed opportunity for interactivity. Theres a version of this game where I can pick up every cassette or VHS and read the back cover or look at the art and that would be much better.

I think a lot of gamers brains sadly calcified in 2014 so theyre still stuck talking about how Mixtape isnt a real game or isnt art when when the real issue is that Ive never played a game that desperate to be liked. Its hitting every button it can to try and get you to like it.

What's the appeal in playing mediocre/bad indie clones of older games versus just going back and playing the games they copying from that look, sound, and play way better?

One of the great strengths of indie games is being able to pick up the slack that corps can't or won't. Nintendo is ignoring obvious fan desire for a zelda dungeon maker so why shouldn't an indie do it?

i don't think this will ever happen because every time they put something frictional in a persona game the people complain about it and beg for its removal and every time they've leaned further into pandering they ascended to an even higher level of acclaim and popularity

@SomewanElse_ I find it worth noting how you can have games like Nier Automata and Stellar Blade get derided as "gooner" games for having attractive female leads leaning into sex appeal, while something like Baldur's Gate 3 has you banging bears and demons but doesn't get the same derision.
