Peyvand Naimi is a young Baha’i prisoner in Kerman who has been tortured, including being subjected to two mock hangings, and was forced to film a false confession broadcast on state TV in February. Peyvand was accused of involvement in the deaths of 3 Basijis during the January protests, despite the fact that he was already in detention at the time. He has also been falsely accused of celebrating the death of Khamenei, an event he could not have known about given his lack of access to information in custody. Iran is not the Islamic Republic. Iran’s civilian infrastructure belongs to the Iranian people and to the future of a free Iran.
