The Delhi Airport security guy and the farmer from my village (the former Annamalai volunteer) proved so prescient.
To be perfectly honest, I had NO idea myself, and I was reporting what they said, unprompted.

At the security in Delhi airport. The security guy, likely from Odisha from his name, saw my attire and guessed I must be from Tamil Nadu and excitedly asked "Sir, Vijay Thalapathi win?" 🤓 Day before yesterday, a politically savvy farmer in my village, not a big movie fan, told me "Vijay is going to cause a surprise in our booth". He used to be a volunteer for Annamalai. As a Thuglak analysis said recently, the Vijay phenomenon in Tamil Nadu should not be dismissed as "movies" or "glamour" - a lot of people from various walks of life are pouring their hope for change on him. The reason exit polls should not be relied upon is that in a 3 party context, where the new party pulls voters from every side, we cannot know who will win. I still think either DMK or AIADMK will win, due to their far better ground level organization and money, but Vijay's political rise is remarkable, in such a short span of time.

பெருமதிப்பிற்குரிய தமிழறிஞர்களும், முக்கிய பிரமுகர்களும் கலந்து கொண்ட இந்த சிறப்பான நிகழ்வில், காலத்தைக் கடந்து நிற்கும் கம்ப இராமாயணத்தின் சிறப்புகளைப் பற்றி எண்ணிப் பார்க்கும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்ததை பாக்கியமாகக் கருதுகிறேன்.

Nagercoil Corporation DMK councillor Ramakrishnan allegedly misused ESI benefits, worth Rs 28.7 lakh, meant for sanitation workers of his firm.
In a recent letter to the Mayor and Commissioner, the Tirunelveli Sub-Regional Office of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation said KS Ramakrishnan failed to pay the dues despite repeated notices and opportunities.
According to ESIC, the ‘Osai Sutru Soolal’ men’s self-help group, linked to his family and involved in municipal contract works, owes Rs 28,71,926 towards employer contribution under the Code on Social Security, 2020.
The Corporation has been requested to assist in recovering the amount as per statutory provisions. Efforts to reach Ramakrishnan for comment were unsuccessful.
