It could not, despite efforts, undo these traditions, and therefore had to find ways to celebrate these traditions in a way that could be called Christian. This process simply repeated itself in Europe

As for ‘Jul’, the term itself was a carry over, but it doesn’t matter, because these are language specific, and the actual holiday name is ‘Christmas’
