@cjtudor @SoledadFrancis I read about 5 books a month and attend a book club. My kids were OK until they hit their teens and they aren't interested in reading atm, hoping they pick if up again as adults

@SoledadFrancis I read lots, and I write books for a living. I still can't get my 12-year-old daughter to read for pleasure. It's not so simple. She's very imaginative, articulate, intelligent. It's not just about screens. She'll spend hours crafting and drawing but reading, not so much.

Children don't read because their parents don't read. We'll soon be led by an entire generation that has never cracked open a book. Not a single book in the home. This frightens me more than the idea of nuclear threat or a foreign power attacking us. We're imploding from within.
