Lebanon has just installed one of the largest statues of Jesus Christ the Redeemer in the Middle East, rising from the Mountain of the Cross in El Qaa. On March 14 the project reached a defining moment with the installation of the statue’s head. Even as tensions and bombardments continue in the region, construction has pushed forward, driven by the determination of the local community. Standing on the hills of Lebanon, the figure of Christ will watch over the valley with a simple message to the world: hope still rises.

@Jason_Jorjani Nick isn’t dumb enough to take Dugin seriously, he’s just harvesting followers from him by engaging. The inverse point is why he won’t talk to Zizek

The fact that anyone ever considered this RETARD to be a "philosopher" is another blot on humanity's record and a sign of severe civilizational decline. That Nick Land takes Dugin seriously, and converses with him respectfully, speaks for how much is left of Land's addled brain.

Who else is an AGI bloomer like me? Who thinks that intelligence actually looks amazingly like wisdom at the highest levels, and that a superintelligence would be something akin to a goddess of compassion, not a paperclipper? Send me recs, send me links, send me reading

Do people even understand that the entire Middle East was home to a diverse array of cultures and religions before Islam colonized it?

@Gnosisinformant My understanding is most scholars see that passage not as prescriptive but as secondary to a directive he’s giving about men not wearing head coverings during worship, like explaining the head covering rule by analogy to a Roman leaning hair custom in Corinth.

Isn’t it amazing that a shroud that’s first mention by anyone comes from 14th century France, looks identical to depictions of Jesus from … *14TH CENTURY FRANCE* … During a time (14th century) when fake shrouds were blowing up in.. 14th century France… The oldest depictions of Jesus in the historical record show him without a beard and without long hair. Jews in the first century did not have long hair like Gauls (France). 1 Corinthians 11:14: “if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him”

@ContraPoints @LITVRGY @tszzl @FMDoc54 The question isn’t “can we replicate the complex real-time data processing and mechanics that enable human mobility” it’s “what is the return on the incredibly massive financial investment necessary to execute it.” People forget—No VC money funded development of Homo Sapiens.

I don’t understand why people continue investing in a company whose CEO is self-evidently delusional and whose plans for the business have no basis in reality. Are they stupid?

Cancel Culture was when people were fired and got death threats for saying there are two genders, not people deciding they don’t want to do business with those that associate with a self-professed Hitler fan.

@ContraPoints @tszzl @FMDoc54 Serious question, what do you see as the obstacle to bipedal robots? Is there an obstacle you have in mind that makes the idea delusional?

@tszzl @FMDoc54 Well obviously you were right to buy in ten years ago. For me, the CEO manically announcing a bold pivot to constructing a utopia staffed by bipedal robots amid declining earnings would be a sell signal, but it’s possible I just don’t grasp The Vision. I guess we’ll see.
