@aaron_epstein Yess man, makes so much sense. First go so deep into people's problems and early on just vibing with them to understand their problem, then go pitch your product and even after that if the vitamin you prescribed is not right, change the product Or customer segment

Think of startup sales as a doctor/patient relationship. If you just walked into the doctor's office and they said "here take this prescription", you wouldn't trust it at all. They don't even know what problems you have yet! Sales is the same. You are the doctor/expert that has to ask lots of questions to understand your customer's problems before you earn the right to show how your product can help. (shoutout @ryanRneu for teaching this to many founders)

everyone in memory space is over engineering retrieval, graph layers, rerankers, fancier RAG. we did too. turns out that's not the bottleneck. so we trained a small model to decide what memory keeps, drops, resurfaces. come see it live- Agentic Summit BLR x Magicball, July 22.

this is pretty typical of how women fall in love: very slowly, like pragmatists - it's an evolutionary strategy to hedge against potentially long-term abusive partners (some women don't have this e.g. manic pixie dream girl types) men are the complete opposite

ok update! i have a boyfriend now. my first (or at least the first one that i count). the idea of it still sort of repulses me, but he is only a little bit awful. i do not love him, but i think i must wait a few months before i learn to. i am kind of indifferent towards him. i forget to text him sometimes. he calls me after doubletexting. it makes my head hurt. he is kind and funny i guess. he is a 5. i am a 5 too so we are looksmatched which is good. i laugh at his jokes, even the ones that are not worth laughing at. i hope this will be the end of my troubles at love. not that i want to marry him, of course. i think i will treat this relationship like a pre-game or maybe some sort of scientific experiment—to see if i can stand The Real Thing. wish me luck!
