Some additional thoughts on equity perps (inspired by a convo with @maybeltr):
Seems like we’re finally getting onchain equity perps on good infra (@tradexyz). Haven’t heard much discussion on how insider trading will become a massive issue for equity perps.
While the frequency of insider trading may be higher in crypto, I'd argue the magnitude of it is higher in equities given how liquid markets are. There's more impactful material in deeper capital markets: earnings, M&A, gov policy, etc. Even if insider info is more concentrated, the depth of capital in these small circles is different than in altcoins. Think Hyperliquid whale, but 10-50+ for equities.
Consider prediction markets. The most liquid markets are always those with open outcomes (unknown until a certain date) like elections and sports and what price BTC will be on a certain date. Far less users wants to trade/provide liquidity to a known-outcome market (like earnings, geopolitical decisions, or business decisions), much less a perpetual market with liquidation.
Informed flow could crush market makers. Not sure how they could justify keeping big equity positions on their books unless uninformed flow (retail) scales enough to offset the risk, and I don’t think anyone realizes how big of a gap that is today. Or spreads/fees just become insane. But either way, the MMs need to be compensated for their risk.

I don’t doubt that Hyperliquid is the best venue for launching equity perps today. Ostium and xStocks likely underperformed because infrastructure wasn’t performant enough.
What I question is which market maker can profitably provide liquidity to equity perps against the wave of insider traders that will inevitably use the most efficient anonymous trading venue in modern stock market history.

One thing about CT is that if you don’t know how to filter the noise, you’ll easily get caught up in it.
About 4 weeks ago, I started talking about @makinafi after coming across some posts from @SerrDavee, and since then, I’ve been sharing bits and pieces about it.
Last week, they ended their Season 0 prelaunch campaign, and today, season 1 is going live.
So what are we expecting?
a. boosted APY: I once raised this as a concern last week; thankfully, @Makintern clarified to me that on season 0, all pools were earning base yield on Morpho.
with season 1, these vaults, known as machines, will now be managed by @Dialectic_Group, which should boost APYs… but also slightly increase risk.
b. tickets $$ value goes live: on @makinafi, tickets represents your gatepass to $MAK ICO at $35M FDV.
unfortunately, it doesn't roll into season 1, but for those who joined in season 0, we’ll finally get to see the dollar value of our tickets.
c. points update: points will keep on accruing to individuals based on the amount deployed, and for depositing LP on Curve, you’ll earn a 3x multiplier.
one interesting fact which I pointed out last week is an integration with @pendle_fi, and hopefully it's coming sooner, but now not only Pendle...
more integrations are expected across protocols like Morpho, Ink (will be key to get both $INK and $MAK), etc.
lastly, unlike in season 0, where withdrawing or moving your assets from your wallet will slash your points, season 1 gives you that leverage, but then you will stop earning multiplier depending on what your action is.
