I’m seeing, yet again, this surge of hatred for the Boomer generation. I’m a late season Boomer, born in 1961; I’ve worked for nearly 50 years, have been in the same profession for 37 years, I’ve routinely worked 45-60 hours a week.
I don’t get why we are so vilified.

@SamQuinnCBS I think it has to do with the lack of American star players (coming out of college especially) and how there always seems to be a problem (super teams, then tanking, and now betting).
The NBA style of play has also changed to shooting a lot of threes with less dunks.

I've noticed a meaningful drop in casual fans since I started doing this full time. The diehards are there and will remain there, but if I'm at a social function, there are fewer people with a passing knowledge of the NBA who want to talk about my job than there used to be.

It’s jarring how many people I know who couldn’t care less about the NBA right now. Was at a brewery last weekend watching the NCAA and it was like pulling teeth trying to get anyone to talk about the league. The NBA has a serious cultural problem with the American sports fan.

Opinion:
Most of the City Connect jerseys are terrible. Occasionally, there's a banger. With new versions so frequent, they've lost their original meaning. They originally represented something cool about a city. Now they're mostly just slop to generate more merchandise income.

@XaviercMiller NBA has certainly been this before. I went to a Pacers game the year after Bird left ISU. Bought a front row seat 30 mins before gametime. I was the only one in my section for the entire game on a Saturday night. Ebbs and Flows come for everyone.

First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines.
You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.

I'm not a fan of this post. Even if houses were significantly cheaper on the coasts, the Midwest would still be a desirable place to live for many reasons. Wisconsin and Minnesota are two of the most functional states in the country.
