@MarcSchmid @DeborahMeaden I do hope you have factored in the new radiators required to make it effective and the redecoration costs. If so, lucky you

I think the encouraging thing is that despite the power of the fossil fuel lobby, people are responding to the oil volatility by buying more EVs, heat pumps and solar… and are not as stupid as the fossil fuel lobby think!!

£114,000,000. 💰 That is the amount of government funding Plymouth secured in just the last seven days. That’s £370 per person to help our city thrive. This is the "Labour Dividend" in action: Labour Council, MPs, and Government working together to put Plymouth first. 🌹

Getting Erasmus+ back is a practical step that opens doors for young people. The muppets in Reform? They’d scrap it to pick a fight with Brussels for the sake of it. After years of young people being let down by right wing losers, this makes a real difference. Happy days.

🚨 NEW: The UK has officially signed up to rejoin the EU’s Erasmus+ scheme from 2027 It means students, apprentices and young people will be able to study and work across Europe

@PeterPrinsley You are part of the reason why outcomes in the UK are so poor. And yet the wonderful NHS that consumes ever greater sums of tax just gets worse and worse. Give us the choice ? Give me the % of tax that goes to the NHS and i’ll look after myself. More chance of life that way

Our NHS is not for sale. Moving to a social insurance model risks a two-tier system where ability to pay matters. After years of neglect, we’re rebuilding - including a new West Suffolk Hospital. #ProtectOurNHS #PMQs

@TrisOsborneMP We ARE In the war whether we like it or not. Why else are we affected. Everyone affected is in the war. Now you have to choose a side !! Or just accept the outcomes as and when. Letters and pontificating with legal speak won’t make one iota of difference

A helpful reminder for anyone who needs one: Reform UK was called the Brexit Party before 2021. In 2019, Farage said there was “no difference between the Brexit Party and UKIP in terms of policy.” Same politics. New branding. Don’t be fooled.

Ridiculous statement from Ex Nato chief - UK unprepared for war due to an “ever-expanding welfare budget”. 25.3m people live below minimum income standard. Since 2010 HMRC failed to collect £500bn of taxes. Does he think poor/ill make better defenders itv.com/news/2026-04-1…

Despite #DonaldTrump’s trolling, glad the #UK is not being dragged into the #IranWar. #Israeli bombing of #Lebanon is wrong and should stop now. To prevent further damage to global economy, instead of blockading Strait of Hormuz, we must deescalate the situation and reopen it.

It’s worth bearing in mind that not one single head of any of our three armed forces, joint staff or Permanent Secretary over the last 20 years has resigned over the relentless hollowing out and catastrophic decline of the UK’s readiness, resources and capability.

@janrosenow Who can afford the retrofitting of suitable radiators and then a complete internal redecoration to make good the works? New builds make sense but retrofitting is lunacy

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented. They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed. That energy is all around us. And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

We’re investing more in the NHS and delivering differently. I'm investing £237 million in 36 new and improved Community Diagnostic Centres. This means shorter waits for tests and scans closer to home, more convenient services, and more footfall to our high streets.

Tough shit all you pea-brained Brexiters out there. Two-thirds of us back Starmer’s plan to align us more closely with the EU. Starmer has his finger on the pulse and is repairing the huge damage done to this country back in 2016. Great news. #RejoinEU

@libdemdaisy The support of the UK for the Iran conflict is utterly irrelevant to the state of our economy. Yes, Iran conflict will make it worse but support or otherwise for the US has no bearing. This is down to the appalling govt and politicians who are an incompetent liability

EU sometimes succeeds, sometimes falls short. But no problem in Europe or beyond would be easier to solve without the EU. And no UK problem is easier to solve outside. Being back inside would not produce miracles. But it would help - a lot. And getting closer will help a little.

It is genuinely positive to see an MP say what most in Westminster already know but rarely admit publicly: the triple lock is not sustainable. For years, this has been driven by political fear more than economic reality. An electoral bribe in the form of a universal benefit that keeps rising, paid for by younger workers to an ageing population. We do need to start thinking differently about the state pension. Protect people from poverty, yes, but be honest about what the country can afford. More on this: conservativehome.com/2026/04/10/ann…
rt hon Sir Desmond Swayne TD MP@DesmondSwayne

If, like me, you were born in 1956, you’ll receive almost £300,000 more in benefits than you’ll pay in taxes in your lifetime State Pensions make up a huge chunk of that Long term, we simply can’t afford to sustain the Triple Lock’s generosity Blog: desmondswaynemp.com/ds-blog/1956/?…
