EXCLUSIVE: @RepThomasMassie has introduced the AIPAC Act in Congress, legislation that would require AIPAC to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
The Israeli lobby has long operated outside the scrutiny applied to other foreign influence organizations. Under this legislation, foreign-backed lobbying and online advertising campaigns promoting paid foreign messaging would be required to clearly disclose sponsored content.

@punk9059 pork and chicken still immorally cheap. McDonald's Mcchicken value meal (sando, nuggets, fries, drink) cost $5.00, same meal with double burger is $6.00. McD is the bellwether. When that price cracks look out.

🦔NV Energy is ending its power supply agreement with Lake Tahoe by May 2027, citing data center demand in northern Nevada. 49,000 California residents who get their electricity through Liberty Utilities, which sources 75% of its power from NV Energy, now have one year to find a new supplier.
NV Energy's planning documents show twelve Nevada data center projects could drive 5,900 megawatts of new demand by 2033, and Amazon recently signed a deal with the utility to deploy 700 megawatts of new generation for Reno data center operations. A March 2026 Gallup poll found seven in ten Americans oppose AI data centers in their communities.
My Take
I have covered Saline Township, Tucson, Fayetteville, Kenya, and Maine, and Lake Tahoe is where the story gets ugly in a new way. A utility company can now cut off 49,000 residents to free up capacity for data centers across the state line, and the regulatory structure offers no clear recourse because no single agency oversees the chain from generation to customer bill. NV Energy claims the timing is unrelated to the AI boom, but signing 700-megawatt contracts with Amazon for Reno data centers in the same window makes that argument hard to take seriously.
Lake Tahoe residents pay California rates on a Nevada grid governed by Nevada regulators who answer to Nevada industrial customers first. Nobody designed the 2009 agreement around the possibility that hyperscalers would show up and absorb the entire region's surplus capacity, and the cross-border structure makes it almost impossible for California regulators to intervene now. Liberty has one year to find a new supplier meeting California's renewable requirements, and the Greenlink West transmission project that might help comes online the same month the current contract ends. Bipartisan opposition to data centers has now reached 70% nationally, and Lake Tahoe is exactly why. The political backlash is becoming the binding constraint that the financing pressure and grid limits already implied.

Epstein survivor Courtney Wild was 14 years old when she was first abused by Jeffrey Epstein, and it lasted until she was 17. In a shaky, tearful voice, she gave her testimony at the House Oversight field hearing in Palm Beach.
What happened to her was terrible, but she explained that what our own government did afterward changed her life just as much.
She came to ask for one simple thing: to make sure this never happens again.
The government secretly made a non-prosecution agreement with Epstein behind closed doors and never told her or any of the victims. Instead, they sent letters telling her to be patient even though the case was already over.
With lawyer Brad Edwards, she fought under the Crime Victims Rights Act for over a decade all the way to the 11th Circuit.
The emails showed the government was trying to make Epstein happy instead of protecting the 40 victims who were children when they were abused.

A tourist who drew widespread condemnation in Hawaii after a witness recorded him chucking a coconut-sized rock at “Lani,” a beloved, endangered Hawaiian monk seal off a Maui beach, was arrested Wednesday by federal agents.
Igor Mykhaylovych Lytvynchuk, 38, of Covington, Washington, is charged with harassing a protected animal, the U.S. attorney's office in Honolulu said, adding that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration special agents arrested him near Seattle.

We have The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2013 to thank for this. Buried in a massive "must pass" appropriations bill, the act allows for taxpayer money to be used for the creation of propaganda for domestic usage. @RepThomasMassie introduced a bill (H.R. 5704) late last year to stop this disgusting misuse of our money, but it's just languishing in committee as of now.

For too long, residents of mobile home parks have been left out of the conversation about our housing crisis, despite being among the most vulnerable Mainers.
I convened a roundtable in Lewiston to hear directly from residents whose concerns have been largely ignored. Their stories are shocking and all too common.
When I’m Governor, we will stop private equity slumlords from buying these parks, jacking up rents, and displacing folks who have nowhere else to go.

@abriNotMe77 @ProfessorPape it's interesting that, in his critique, the author uses the USA replacing France in IndoChina as an example of where there was no conflict while failing to make the case that France and USA are or were rival powers, colonial or otherwise, lol. He also speaks in cheap metaphors.

Xi is laying down the law to Trump in Beijing:
-- Taiwan is the military red line
-- Don’t stumble into a Thucydides Trap
The Iran war weakened America’s deterrent position faster than Washington realizes.
Beijing now sees a distracted, overstretched superpower — and is taking full advantage
The costs of Trump's strategic failure in Iran are mounting
