I met 3 travelers in Penang, Malaysia who cycled around the world for a full year with zero prior experience. They share wild & crazy stories from 20+ countries on their global bikepacking adventure. My newest story

@p_millerd Sivers uses a combination of inchword and deepl to translate his books, might be useful to look into for Angie's book

ive built a lot of my path around only doing work that feels right without grind tension. that's mostly been successful but claude code is helping remove the final 10-15% of maintenance and admin grind an example: redoing a website. the choice used to be blocking off a couple days for intensive powering through or hiring someone. both choices kind of suck when you aren't flush in cash In the past couple of weeks I've set up agentic workflows to: - report on and manage my meta ad for my consulting course (often wasted tons here) - report on and manage my amazon book ads US and UK (only a few hundred dollars but it was very inefficient) - now I added a third country too - basically something I hadn'y checked in a year - a weekly report based on how my books, angies book, and other proejcts are doing, any social mentions so i can thank people, and then also ideas of what kind of fun things i could consider on my path I also used the tools to: - move almost all my wordpress sites to astro, on top of free obsidian vaults to manage content mostly for free - build my own teachable replacement for my consulting course - build a 12 step blog writing process for the strategyu site that I can then edit in two rounds that meet my standards (still not there yet for my personal writing at all) - build a 15 minute video slideshow for the traveling village in under two hours of work using mostly code and then descript to add music (using agent to place the music) - help create an exact translation of Angie's book to english chapter by chapter that I can then edit, using git for version control, and eventually for EPUB and PDF creation directly from code Next I plan to: - Move off circle and rebuild my own custom community stack + course that fits with the vision of what I always felt was impossible A lot of these tasks (like the amazon ads) went from insanely underoptimized, basically never checked, to something I can now "manage" and dream up new approaches in less than 5-10 minutes a week I am at somewhat of an advantage of implementing this stuff. I've played with every new tech since I had a computer at 9 years old. I learned basic coding as a kid and then more in college. I manage almost all of everything I do and rarely hire people to work with me or help me. I'm finding things fall into buckets 1. Bringing alive things I "could do" but basically ignored or under-optimized for years into a simple workflow 2. Expanding the possibility space of what I could do now that many more things are fun and easy What a time to be alive

Five years ago, when my brother ran off to San Francisco with a rather unfortunate woman who condemned his entire family—calling us all irredeemable racists who should be cut out of his life—I told him to let me know when he was ready to come back to reality. We didn’t talk for two and a half years. This was the amount of time it took him to realize his mistake and extricate himself from the prison of that relationship. He’s good now. We’re good now. And yesterday, we threw a little cloth frisbee together in Golden Gate Park and talked about the bright future.

@ItsKieranDrew Congrats on 1k subs! Watched your oldest video & most recent vid Good move to drop the sound affects and stock footage. 1st vid feels over-edited, most recent one is better Maybe this is my personal taste, but keep it simple! Most important thing is your ideas, not the edit

I crossed 1,000 subscribers on YouTube this week. I've recorded 25 videos so far. That's enough signal for me to know I want to do this long term. So I'm looking to take the process more seriously. If anyone has any recommendations (tips, people worth working with), please let me know!

@david_perell When you stop consuming good works of art, your own ability to create it will dampen and fade I've noticed this with the stuff I make. Stop watching my favorite creators, youtube game slips. Stop reading my favorite writers, writing becomes harder

Talk to a top-tier creative and chances are, you’ll be blown away by how prolific they are in their consumption: The musician who listens to 10 albums a week, the designer who’s visited antique stores in 57 countries, the architect who’s living room is stacked with piles of reference guides, the writer who’s read 1,000 novels, the filmmaker who watches 400 movies per year. The method varies, but the core pattern stays the same… it’s constant consumption, day after day.

Reading has been my favorite activity of 2025. For the past few years I stuck to only nonfiction books and blogs But this year I found fiction again, and it's been more enjoyable than I ever could've imagined This is NOT a cringe humble brag, just a reminder to read a good book
Alex & Books 📚@AlexAndBooks_

This is not good... -Fewer than 50% of people read even 1 book a year -Only 38% of people read a novel or short story -Reading for pleasure has fallen 3% every year for the last 20 years

The pathless path readers are the best in the world and this makes my life weird - met a reader who discovered my work over breakfast in Taipei on sabbatical - met a longtime reader and his wife for dinner exploring places to live abroad with future kids - got stopped by a random person on the MRT who found out about the Chinese version of my book - got a lovely message from a reader in Barcelona about my book And all the while in my day to day I have been feeling a bit stuck in my work. But I don’t beat myself up. My biggest hope when I started writing early on was that I could meet a handful of people who might become friends. This is far beyond my imagination.

Randomly came across a Disney artist I hadn’t heard of, Frans Van Lamsweerde in one of those posts that casually mentions “My father was an artist at Disney.” And my follow up, “What was his name?” Followed by the unfamiliar name, followed by a Google search. And then, “Holy Cow!” Lamsweerde was at the Disney Studios around 1950-1954 and provided backgrounds for among other things, Peter Pan, although uncredited. Pictured here are some of the Christmas cards he created over the years.
