@RBrookhiser There has been much chatter about protocol allowing 10 of the 14 next in Presidential succession to be in the same room together. John Wilkes Booth had a Plan to kill AL, Johnson, & Seward that evening. Booth succeeded but George Atzerodt "chickened out" and Lewis Powell almost, but didn't "off" Seward. Jay Winik in "The Month that Saved America" said that the country and the five day peace might have fallen apart. Imagine, if we had awakened this morning to a 92 year old President Grassley!

Relative to Americans with a high school education, Americans with graduate degrees are twice as likely to support political violence. More education = higher support for political violence. It couldn't be otherwise.

@loneloc02 @EdMorrissey Dude. My life is so hard. Out of 20 people under 40 in my store exactly three know who John Wayne is. And probably not one can pick Dean Martin out of a two man lineup, and that’s if the other dude was James Earl Jones.

Not sure about underrated, but Hang Em High doesn't get mentioned often enough as one of the best. Silverado may be one of the most fun (and well structured). There Was a Crooked Man is amazing.

But even as young as I was when The Shootist came out, I've always been a sucker for passing greatness, & re Tombstone there wasn't a dropped ball in that ensemble cast, never mind Kilmer, Russell, or Elliott (hell, even Biehn as far as that goes).

I'd add Quigley Down Under as potentially underrated. Rustler's Rhapsody may not be underrated as a Western, but it is as a comedy for sure. It's hilarious.

@EdMorrissey Yeah, definitely driven by its actors - even DiCaprio wasn't half-bad. And Raimi was more restrained than usual, although his fingerprints were on it.

@loneloc02 A little too slick for me, and too many Raimi works, but Stone, Hackman, and Crowe make it work!

@Texcessories @EdMorrissey Right, but the question was "underrated" - who doesn't think Rio Bravo was great? I don't think The Quick and the Dead was the best Western ever (that would either be The Shootist or Tombstone), but I think it was more solid than it's generally given credit for.

@loneloc02 @EdMorrissey Perhaps the worst movie ever made. Certainly top five. Most underrated Western movie is Rio Bravo. John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Martin, Walter Brennan, Claude Akin. What more could you ask for?

I've been on the air live twice now when someone has tried to kill the President. I worry about President Trump every day. I worry about these events. The fact that DHS has been unfunded for 70 days in this environment is outrageous. Every American should be outraged by it.

OK, I've never been law enforcement, and perhaps you LE types can explain this. A guy just charged the entrance to a ballroom with the President, Vice President and Cabinet in it, while carrying a shotgun, a pistol and some knives, and he apparently got off several shots, including hitting a Secret Service agent. So here is my question: How is this guy still alive?

I, famously, do not even have big boobs and multiple people have accused me of posting "thirst traps" (and bad unsexy ones, at that) and they're outfits I wore in public with my family in broad daylight. Perhaps sometimes women post fashion photos....without it being about sex
