The last three dinner parties I’ve been at in SF, with completely non-political people, have all at some point descended into everyone exclaiming some version of “so thankful for @DanielLurie”

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie spoke after the fallout from the city’s newest supervisor resigning Thursday night, just a week after Lurie appointed her to the office. Questions about 29-year-old Beya Alcaraz's conduct as a small business owner quickly came under fire, forcing her to step down. “Let me be clear on this: This is not the first time that I have gotten something wrong. It won’t be the last. But what I can commit to all of you and the people of San Francisco is that I’m going to learn from this, and that I’m going to grow,” Lurie said at a press conference on Friday. San Francisco voted for change. @DanielLurie is not only doing a good job, he's approachable and is generally a nice person. London Breed did not give off that same vibe. That's the way it goes.

At this moment, there is very little effort by the mayor and city hall to do this. Instead, Mayor Lurie prioritizes music raves, concerts and dances.

Tonight Mayor .@DanielLurie gave an address at City Hall to celebrate the closing of Black History Month. What most people didn't see, is that moments prior, a senior had fainted on the steps of City Hall. Mayor Lurie came to her aid, stayed by her side, holding her hand. He stayed on the floor, not moving an inch, until the paramedics arrived, and she thankfully recovered. It's these moments, when the cameras aren't rolling, that make me inspired to serve alongside our Mayor. And proud to be a San Franciscan.
