@KellyKEditing I can't speak to the coffee since I'm a nutjob that doesn't drink coffee. Anything aside from the Farmer's wrap for their food is terrible. I'll choose Krispy Kreme donuts over Timmy's any day, but I do enjoy their apple fritters. And obviously Timbits are a brilliant invention

@pakeha1 @HeavyHockeyNet Well I guess the first instance of that was with Woodcroft in 22-23, then continued with Knob/Coffey in 23-24. Broberg was in the press box most nights in the first half of 23-24, then they finally sent him down because he wanted to be playing rather than sitting

@pakeha1 @HeavyHockeyNet That was Woodcroft I'm pretty sure. Yes, Ekholm and Kulak blocked him; but the worst was Holland saying Broberg had a spot to lose in 2022 camp and then signing Ryan Murray. Then he kept Niemelainen over Broberg to start the season as well (which never made sense imo)

@lotsryan @HeavyHockeyNet He was blocked when they got Ekholm, and still had Nurse and Kulak. The season he went back to the AHL, they (Coffey/Knoblauch) chose to play Desharnais vs Broberg or move someone else to RD.

@lotsryan @HeavyHockeyNet Was it Holland who blocked Broberg's development in the NHL... or was it Coffey/Knoblauch when they sent him to the AHL at the beginning of the season? Broberg definitely improved in the AHL, and had an excellent NHL playoff. In retrospect they should have matched.

@lotsryan @AustinHockeyYT @HeavyHockeyNet Maybe, maybe not. But you've made a claim: KK is a good coach. The biggest counter is: How come they got way better when a different one came in? And "We aren't in the room", "rest" and "small sample" aren't really great explanations.

@AdamRiz @AustinHockeyYT @HeavyHockeyNet I'd be more willing to buy into that narrative if the Oilers had gone on another run here. PC was on the bench for the playoffs, and all the same issues that persisted in the regular season reared their ugly heads in the playoffs as well

@AustinHockeyYT @HeavyHockeyNet I just think it meant there wasn't a line combo that performed well enough to merit 200 mins. This is a "chicken and egg" debate, which dictated the outcome of the other

@AdamRiz @AustinHockeyYT @HeavyHockeyNet Using that 5 gm segment as an argument against KK and for PC is invalid because there were other factors at play (namely rest) and the required information isn't available since we weren't in the room. Also, sample size. Same issues persisted in playoffs with PC on board.

@AdamRiz @AustinHockeyYT @HeavyHockeyNet And I'm telling you that it's not possible for us as outsiders to conclusively prove which factor was responsible for that 5 game stretch you referenced (KK, PC, or rest) because we weren't in the room. I can't prove it was KK. You can't prove it was PC.
