Last month, I needed an ultrasound. My deductible has not been reached (I rarely meet it). So, knowing this, I asked them how much the US would cost if I were paying cash. They said $170. So, I told them I wanted to pay that amount on the spot, rather than putting it through my insurance. They said no. They had a contract with insurance to charge it to them. The bill arrived this morning, insurance paid nothing, and now I owe them $244.00!!!!!

@Solar_Sas if you got your whole hands on the kids, every single day, then yes, by all means and they will listen, too, because you are their north star. once you split that time largely with the state and a "public" Prussian education, they don't care about your north, its all about peers

If you as a parent are constantly letting your kids consume things you know are low quality art as a way to just "keep them entertained" you are doing a bad job. You are their first taste maker. Raising them well also includes raising them with a sense of good culture.

@JonahA59 ticks are just like pollen - they're not the actual issue, just a trigger for a much more complex immune system issue in the human host terrain.

Apparently ticks are not a food chain keystone species, we have successfully eradicated a tick before (the Cattle Fever Tick), in 2023 the USDA started gene-editing ticks for future eradication efforts. The issue is just a slow lifecycle and money. Absolutely worth my taxes.
