When the cost of intelligence drops, human ambition expands. That’s the part most people miss. The recent a16z article on the “AI Job Apocalypse” made one thing very clear: AI is not deleting work. It’s reallocating work. (a16z.news) Routine tasks shrink. Higher leverage work grows. The spreadsheet didn’t eliminate finance. The internet didn’t eliminate business. The smartphone didn’t eliminate communication. They created entirely new industries. AI will do the same. The winners in this era will not be the people fighting AI. It will be the people using AI to amplify judgment, creativity, speed, and execution. One person with AI can now: - build a company faster - launch products faster - learn faster - create content faster - solve problems faster We are entering an age where intelligence becomes abundant. And when intelligence becomes abundant, execution becomes the new scarcity. That changes everything. The most optimistic part? A teenager with a laptop now has capabilities that once required entire corporations. That is not dystopian. That is empowering. Yes, some jobs will disappear. Every technological revolution reshapes labor. But new industries are already emerging: AI operators. AI strategists. AI workflow architects. Human-AI collaboration designers. Autonomous business builders. The future belongs to people who adapt early. Not people who panic early. AI is not the end of human value. It’s the beginning of a new operating system for civilization. And the people who learn to work with intelligence instead of competing against it will build the next generation of companies, wealth, and breakthroughs. Prediction markets want to be treated like the future of trading while charging fees that would make a broker blush. @Kalshi : 3.5% at 50c. @Polymarket crypto: 3.6% at 50c. @trylimitless : up to 4.5% round trip. Many stock brokers charge $0 online commissions. What exactly is the premium service here?

Right now I think we’re overestimating AI. I’ve spent the last few weeks building an AI crypto bot which is almost ready to launch. But I realised the AI is only as good as the human training it. While building my bot I realised AI cannot think critically to problem solve. It can fix bugs, but I, the human, need to activity problem solve and instruct the AI on that basis.

@lanzilli Nice take, war doesn't wait on ethics so fight "fire with fire" while holding morals as high as POSSIBLE. This way we don't risk losing the freedom to even have morals later.

Everyone who's ever fought for their freedom has had to put morals and ethics aside, and it was the right move. War in-and-of itself is not moral or ethical.  As a society & human race we want to live morally and ethically. We strive to. I believe the time will come where that is the global constant. When it does though, will we be living in a free country like the USA or a dictatorship like China or Russia? Maybe it doesn't matter. I think it does though.  During war a dictatorship is going to cast aside morals and ethics fast. It's not even a discussion. China and Russia are moving full steam ahead developing these exact type of weapons. We need to do our best to fight fire with fire (or AI with AI, in this case) while also implementing morals and ethics.  In this case, morals and ethics must be secondary where need be and primary wherever possible.

I can see both sides of the anthropic argument on whether AI should be allowed to control weapons and surveillance, and honestly I’m torn. On the moral side, I feel it makes sense to not let AI have that kind of power. Keeping humans in control over lethal decisions and mass surveillance seems like the right thing to do because it protects civilians in principle, reduces the chance of algorithmic mistakes turning into tragedies, and just feels more humane overall. But then I look at the practical side and I get conflicted. Our adversaries don’t care about the moral argument at all. If they think weaponizing AI will give them an edge, they’re going to do it. And if they pull ahead because we held back for ethical reasons, the consequences could end up hurting us worse than if we had allowed AI those capabilities in the first place with proper safeguards. So I’m stuck right in the middle. The moral position feels correct in isolation, but the strategic reality makes me question whether holding the high ground actually keeps anyone safer. I’m genuinely open to hearing different perspectives on this, so please feel free to drop a comment and share your take.
