@Nithya_Shrii It will be a hybrid approach. University and self-directed will more likely be AI. Younger children will likely require human teachers, supplemented by AI.

young people not embracing AI is really interesting to me growing up, young people would eat up new tech and the boomers would fear it today, the CEOs and VCs and tech bros love it, but others are much more mixed

@saltyreigns If 20 houses in a street had a Tesla each, charging at night, you'd overload the local distribution transformer. I haven't heard any plans from the green brigade as to where all this new infrastructure is coming from, and who is paying.

They appear to optimizing for the wrong things. It should be optmized to maximize longterm value for the user. Everything else depends on it. So Make the main feed 80% from accounts you follow Discovery layer is 20%, and it must be high-signal only Suppress rage-bait signals hard. Monetize on positive signals. Slider for user control of content mix. The local relevance bias was ohh-kay in theory, but it needs to be part of the rest to work i.e. user override signalling positive.

This was misguided. It doesn’t address the root cause. I have a radical idea: What if 70% of our feeds were posts from accounts we’ve explicitly chosen to follow? The other 30% is high quality posts from others. Suppress obvious rageslop. Problem solved.

@RaybonKan We don't have Tories here. That's a UK thing. What we have is a uni-party with SFA difference between them, essentially centre-left. Anyway, what happened to the left mantra "Just Stop Oil"?

The Greens: “Debt limits are too restrictive. We should borrow much more.” Also the Greens: “This Govt has ruined the economy and Fitch has downgraded our rating.” They have to pick one.

New Zealand has failed to learn from previous oil shocks. Indeed, with key changes of government, sensible initiatives to reduce our fossil fuel dependency have been reversed. As this item states we are driving in the wrong direction! theconversation.com/driving-in-the…

Australia is running out of fuel in some locations. The Philippines has declared a national emergency because they have 44 days fuel remaining. New Zealand has fewer days fuel remaining than the Philippines but our government doesn't appear at all concerned.

@NewstalkZB Why aren't the Greens telling them to ride a bike on their empty cycle lanes? Why this sudden love for oil, so much so they demand subsidising it?

Great reporting with just a few small wrinkles: First, the family arrived on time-limited visitor visas, so it’s not clear why they think they’re entitled to stay here permanently. Second, the minister didn’t “tell them to leave”. The law requires that. He simply declined to give them special treatment. Third, we’re told “no reason was given” for declining special treatment, then the rest of the article is spent confidently imputing a reason. Other than that, great journalism. No notes.

@luatunes @2ETEKA I've been saying that since the last election. Luxon is cringe-worthy; trying to appeal to ppl who will NEVER vote for him and burning his base. 2023 was a strong vote against Labour and esp Adern. Luxon just doesn't get it
