TX and GA have a similar problem, in that both have massive suburban counties that prop (or propped) up the GOP and overwhelm the major urban counties.
GA’s red suburbs fell and the rural vote is maxed out. And the election laws are terrible.
TX’s suburbs are a bit stronger and there is more of the working-class Latino vote in reserve as years pass by.
Yet the animosity between the do-nothing GOP brand from the suburbs and the demands of the populist base (warranted demands) create this inevitable conflict.
