I bought Renegades on Steam for like $15. Renegades is $40 on PS5. Marathon is $40 on PS5. I just rebought Renegades so I can sit with my dogs on the couch. Zero hate to Marathon, but people who just aren't into it are just not going to play it.

So Destiny community, how much life are we bringing back to the game on June 9th? Are you logging on for just one day? Gonna grind out a week or so? Or are you gonna send it for a month or more? I’m thinking I want to dive back in for quite awhile…

@GigiNewbie @NintyPrime The vast majority of disinterested D2 players are radio silent on Marathon because they literally do not care. Just the loud angry ones are all you see.

@NintyPrime Fair enough. You can't force others with no interest to play Marathon, and that's ok, but the least D2 fans can do is not vomit all over Marathon every chance they get, attacking and slandering it. Like if you don't like it, cool, then just move on, no need to be toxic about it.

The problem is trying to force players with no interest in Marathon, to play and spend money on it, for the feint hope an entirely different game gets greenlit. Just not how this works. If that’s what is needed to save Bungie, then Bungie can’t be saved. Marathon needs to be successful for itself. Not based off the popularity of an entirely different franchise.

@sc0nesandc0ffee Once the story turned into the Rocky montage style Strand training, it was very meh. If that weird pause in moving the story forward weren't there, I would have loved Lightfall. It had excellent missions and a deep story, if we ignore the dumb part.

One last dragging for old times’ sake: Lightfall and its story was actually much better than people acted. A combination of CCs turning into shit-posting rage baiters and a narrative team that was simply too talented and wrote too high brow for most is why people think it’s bad. Also, 99% of the time if you swear up and down you hate Nimbus it’s homophobia/transphobia veiled as a poorly worded opinion.

No MOTW for my parodies will ever compare to my 8 year old nephew memorizing Foil and having my sister record him singing it for me. He used to send me Xbox Live messages at 5am my time to play Destiny 1 together. Now he's a year into the Navy. 🤯
