I think the question as to whether AI is conscious will come down to how consciousness is defined, which to my knowledge, has yet to be agreed upon as a universal consensus.

Look at the broken lives caused by addiction.
While there are elements of drug enforcement worth debating and perhaps changing, the effort to remove dealers from the streets should never be halted.
Dealers, even the lowest level street sellers, should be arrested and prosecuted.

As someone who studied abroad in France and traveled extensively overseas, most American bread in stores is terrible by comparison. Good bread here is found in small mom-and-pop bakeries, but those are few and far between. Unfortunately, as is often the case with American food, conveiance wins over quality. A lot of Americans are aware of this deficit and some choose to make their own bread.

As a German who has spent several years in the USA, I can tell you that none of the stuff you guys call "bread" over there is remotely comparable to what you get in any average bakery over here.

Exactly. Learning the environmental factors is key. A lot of autism moms are more concerned with getting attention for their children by way of social media than actually putting in the work to make sure that their environment is suitable. In my experience with my family, 90% of meltdowns can be mitigated through setting the right environmental conditions. Again, I learned all this through listening.

True. There’s a lot of projection as well. I used to go to autism support groups when my kids were little and had to stop because of the incessant victim mentality and martyrdom. I found I learned more about how to help my family members with autism by actually listening to THEM about THEIR wants and needs.

@nancym73026589 @LeahDiscovers This viewpoint is so troubling to me. As a mom myself, I couldn’t imagine anything greater than to celebrate WITH the women who made my family’s existence possible. If you’re fortunate enough to have a mother still alive, take that as a gift and honor her as such.

@LeahDiscovers It’s older women that aren’t parenting anymore wanting to be put on a pedestal causing the moms who are in the thick of it not even being able to enjoy being celebrated. Other than a small happy mothersday card, older women need to understand they had their time

Why do mother's day celebrations have to be so entailed?
Also I have never celebrated "all mothers" beyond a "Happy Mother's Day" to fellow women.
Otherwise I celebrate MY mother, you celebrate YOURS. If their mothers are alive They celebrate them.
It's only difficult because people have turned it into too much.

Growing up by the ocean, when I would get stressed, I would head to the beach. I would sit on the sand and look out to the vastness of the water and watch my problems melt away. Now that I live inland a bit, I find watching Space X launches have the same effect.
