80s conservative politics. I’m dead serious. Most films of the 80s, even ostensibly liberal ones, had codified conservative morals tied into their narratives. This is the same film that had the Confederate flag in the library in a HS located in Chicago.

“Monsters” may be producing less impact in any regard whatsoever than most people imagine. They are few, and they cannot accomplish much. The mega-atrocities of monumental scale are not being done by “monsters” but rather by the normal-ish, flawed humans like me and you.

Counterpoint: Good Guys vs Bad Guys framing as presented here is childish. In reality, there are neither “Good” or “Bad” guys in the way people imagine, but only flawed, imperfect humans on every side, including the one you see as the side of “Good”.
