AI can make work faster, but a fear is that relying on it may make it harder to learn new skills on the job.
We ran an experiment with software engineers to learn more. Coding with AI led to a decrease in mastery—but this depended on how people used it.

@krabstronaut @theodorvaryag zed is superior for rust for sure, but the short hands differ from vscode, requires to configure nd all and still might miss some features we get from cursor, but I hate using tab completion on rust code so might not be bad to switch to it, or just become a neovimer at this point

@theodorvaryag Is this in terms of memory consumption or just the quality of lsp?
Since the past 3 or 4 major versions rust analyzer has started being much more memory intensive for me. If you play with heavy libs like alloy-rs or solana-sdk it straight up eats more than 10gbs of ram

omw to OnlyDevs to attend my first conference excited to see whats breaking in solana
shek@shek_dev
I am organizing a conference that I've always wanted to attend - OnlyDevs. Curating the line up has been a labor of love. Every speaker had to pass one bar: Are they working on something that would make a systems engineer at FAANG jealous? No panels. No fluff. Only talks on the hardest technical problems being solved on @solana today.

Today, I was fired from Meta without any explanation.
No warning, no emails, no phone calls.
My laptop and glasses were taken and I was escorted out of the Meta office.
I was in charge of the Meta OS team, leading our efforts around the wrist band and specifically building out our video call capabilities.
I am disappointed and saddened that I was let go but I am hopeful for the future.
