@Linahuaa I find it bonkers you'd spend half of your money on a home. Late 30's here, 50-70m incidentally! Typing this from a kitchen table from a 3m apartment I got 2wk ago, currently being renovated.

When I reach $20m net worth (probably within 3-5 years), I'll buy an $8m apartment in Shanghai, which is about equivalent to a €1m apartment in Berlin at 2010 prices. Then I will just continue working, spending like a normal wagie, and compounding at 6-8% low risk. I'll probably reach ~$50-70m in my mid 30s and still live exactly like I'm living now. I could buy a really nice mansion- like the ones celebrities have- but I'll probably get 2-3 nice upper-mid tier apartments for my future kids instead, and will not be able to afford rich people houses anytime soon. (not necessary anyway, I think) The funny thing is that my kids will have about exactly the same life quality as random German or Swiss kids used to have 20 years ago, except that they'll have more flexibility with their future career choices.

TradFi has the issue: accelerators need to ship startups like hotcakes. But taking a company public demands far more work and capital than launching an ICO. So instead of building strong products, VCs projects keep issuing more tokens and cloning the same ideas. It’s always been like that: L1's, L2's, 100+ perpdexes. If you treat tokens as early-stage startups, only a tiny fraction of true pioneers will survive — and their “shares” will hold real value as market leaders. Decentralization, rights, and revenue distribution are still messy, but people buying DeFi OG tokens are clearly betting this will mature into something structurally solid. One example I like is $YB.
