@markpougatch Hugo Ekitike suffers ruptured Achilles tendon and misses rest of season. Anyone: “Oh, that’s awful” Mark Pougatch: “We shouldn’t be using the word ‘awful’ to describe this. The Holocaust was awful. Check your language. Do better”. Utter joke of a post/opinion.

Football reporters should never ever, ever, ever use the word ‘disaster’ in relation to giving a goal away. We’ve just marked the Hillsborough tragedy. Check your language. Do much better.

you all spend the season defending slott because your the better reds and theres "mitigating circumstances" for him even though hes been worse then roy hodgson & weve been embarrassed for nearly a year all while spending half of it on holiday but your fine watching our greatest modern day player... a man who stood n the pitch 1st game of the season in tears he was so broken by those same "mitigating circumstances" being dismantled publicly you're more angry at ticket prices going up then the public annihilation of someone who made our dreams come true you talk about how important ynwa is and what is means but it clearly only matters when you feel like it this season has shown a lot of true colours in our fanbase #lfc

It’s a remarkable coincidence that the Earth was exactly the same orientation to the moon with exactly the same cloud coverage when these two pictures were taken 68 years apart. Am I now a coincidence theorist ?

Starmer playing football. The game passes him by. He’s probably one of those shite, talentless footballers who can only contribute by barking orders and taking all the throw ins…because it’s the only way they become visible during a game.

Following Monday’s visit by the Reform party and its leader, Nigel Farage, the club would like to issue the following statement: Ipswich Town Football Club has, over several years, hosted representatives from a range of political parties. The club remains apolitical and does not support or endorse any individual or party. The club will continue to engage with representatives from across the political spectrum as part of its role within the community. Ipswich Town is proud to be an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community. This commitment remains unchanged.

@Moobalicious79 @jadinho97 If you’re British and a Christian, you’re following a ‘foreign religion’ - the people of these isles followed all manner of religions well before Christianity even existed and when it came over here folk had to assimilate into its foreign ideology. That’s OK, though, I guess?

England was a Christian country 200 years before Islam even existed - Our flags all carry the crosses of venerated saints of Christianity, our laws and customs are all Christian - It is NOT the obligation of a Christian land to assimilate into a foreign ideology; it is of the foreign ideology to respect the customs of the culture it lives in. If we were in Saudi Arabia, we would not expect Muslims to allow our traditions to supersede theirs.

IF IT'S NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT. The media seem to think The Apprentice format is stale. I compare it to football. The rules are the same every game, but something special happens every game. That something is different players every season. We inspire young people every year. @bbcapprentice

Responses to this demonstrate why the UK has become Crab Bucket Island. To all the idiots hating on this couple: they're the ones whose taxes pay for everything you want. They could easily earn more in the US. Bear that in mind.

They're sadly getting a lot of hate for this which is unfair. Yes, they're on an above average income but it's still not great money. The issue is that Brits don't understand just how poor we are - or how dysfunctional our tax system is.

Am I just a monster? It's been 4 years since I became a father and I'm beginning to fear for my soul. The truth is I just don't like being around kids for very long. Historically, this is not uncommon among fathers, but today it feels almost illegal. It's causing me a lot of confusion and anguish. The ideal amount of time I would like to spend playing with my kids is probably about 70-140 minutes a week—roughly ten minutes each day, maybe 2x/day, taking breaks from work. My feelings of love toward them are perfectly strong, but if I have to watch them or entertain them for more than about 10 minutes my blood starts to boil. I just want to be working, or accomplishing something. I try to be grateful, but it doesn't work. It's 9 AM this morning, Saturday, January 3. It's a sunny, warm day here in Austin, and my four-year-old son is begging me to play catch in the street. I was drinking coffee, still waking up, so I didn’t really feel like it, but at this age his desire to play is insatiable. He begged and begged, so I conceded, and with a smile. I have no problem being a kind and loving father, the problem is only that I do not enjoy it. It's not that I'm trying to maximize my personal pleasure; it just seems wrong that I experience so little delight when my dad friends all claim to experience so much. It was beautiful. We live on a picturesque, tree-lined block. I am even relatively relaxed from the holiday rest. Playing catch with your son is supposed to be an iconic, peak experience. Yet for every single minute, on the inside, I just don't want to be there. I want to be drinking my coffee in peace. Then I feel guilty and absurdly ungrateful, and ashamed, when we're done. I know that when he is a teenager, I'll long to have these days back. I have all of this perspective rationally, and I've been very patient and steadfast trying to digest it, but nothing fixes me emotionally. Am I a terrible person? Or is my feeling within a certain range of historically normal and it's modern parenting norms that are off? Whether it's my fault or not, I don't even care, I just want to figure this out. Something is wrong and I no longer have the excuse of being new to this.
