@eiszett Have you read all the sources you ever cited? During my PhD we, along with dozens of other papers, cited a paper that I later found did not contain the result for which it was commonly cited. I should be banned I guess.

Occasional errors and oversights are part of science. If we lost our driver’s license for a year every time we exceeded the speed limit by 10 km/h, daily life would become unworkable. Many countries instead use point systems, where trust can be rebuilt through good behavior.

beyond all else thing that annoys me most about this specifically is that they're taking a dig at Caro. She is one of the only real critical journalists left and they're just showing that they have zero care for real reporting or critisicm. instead they double down on a bad gag

@THemingford Coffee shop waitress isn’t a job you do when you want to pay a mortgage and have kids. It’s a summer job for young kids. If you want to make it “cover the cost of living” then coffee (and everything else especially food) gets more expensive as with every minimum wage increase.

If paying people enough to live on "tanks your business", then the model was never viable. That is not an attack on small business, it is basic economics. You cannot build an economy on wages that do not cover the cost of living.
