And while Naheed Nenshi @nenshi may try to distance himself, the Alberta NDP’s own constitution makes clear they are tied to the federal party. The truth is, the Alberta NDP has a long track record of opposing pipelines and energy development. Their extreme views are a danger to jobs and affordability. On the evening of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, a District 8 patrol sergeant stopped 2 drivers who were excessively speeding on Stoney Trail. ⚠️ At about 10 p.m., a vehicle was observed travelling 175 km/h & weaving through multiple lanes of traffic on Stoney Trail near 154 Avenue S.W. The 17-year-old driver was stopped & issued a mandatory court summons for speeding, as well as an $852 ticket & 6 demerit points for careless driving. ⚠️ A short time later, at approx. 11 p.m., another vehicle was stopped for travelling 165 km/h on Stoney Trail near Macleod Trail S.E. The driver received a mandatory court summons for speeding & a $421 ticket for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. ‼️ Exceeding the speed limit by 51 km/h or more requires a mandatory court appearance. Road safety is a shared responsibility.
