As Tamil Nadu heads closer to elections, the battle lines are clearer and sharper. DMK says its alliance is strong, its strategy is ready, and its focus remains on performance. In this conversation, T. K. S. Elangovan dismisses concerns over alliance friction, takes on the Bharatiya Janata Party, and weighs in on the rising buzz around Vijay. “Whoever joins BJP will lose,” he claims. But with new players, shifting alliances, and high stakes, will confidence translate into votes? @umasudhir @elangovantks #DMK #TamilNaduElections #Elections2026 #Vijay #DeKoder

In Thakurnagar, the heart of the Matua community, the election conversation is shifting. From citizenship promises to a more immediate concern: “Will we even be able to vote?” Many here say their names are missing from voter lists or stuck in adjudication, despite having documents. As the Bharatiya Janata Party and All India Trinamool Congress trade charges, the real story lies in the voices on the ground. A community that has faced displacement for decades is now asking a basic question: Are we being counted? Ground report from Bengal’s Matua belt. @alok_pandey @umasudhir @manishdekoder #Bengal #Matua #Elections2026 #BJP #TMC

Elections in our country ‘s now determined by just one factor which incumbent ‘s paying how much to women voters ..as no incumbent state govt lost the elections after transferring money in beneficiary account .Himanta & Mamata ‘s coming back becoz of cash transfer scheme ..

The buzz in Delhi- Assembly election 2026 1- @PiyushGoyal will be in Chennai tomorrow. Many observers think a-If there is a bilateral contest between two alliances -one led by @arivalayam and another by AIDMK along with @TVKVijayHQ - then, DMK has a lot to worry. b- If it’s a triangular contest @mkstalin will have better ground to fight. If superstar Vijay goes with AIDMK it will be a formidable alliance to exploit anti-incumbency against DMK. @BJP4India is largely a facilitator here ‘to pave way to defeat’ the ruling alliance. 2- In Assam, due to @himantabiswa’s exceedingly aggressive campaign, once again, the state is witnessing the strong sentiments against infiltrators. Difficult for @INCIndia led alliance to defeat @BJP4India in Assam. 3- @BJP4India, the party 24/7 obsessed to see Congress lose in all elections all times must be wishing secretly that, once more, @pinarayivijayan wins. But, @INCIndia, in spite of their internal fights, is well-placed here to remain positive till 4,May. 4- West Bengal is the most important state for @BJP4India . IF @MamataOfficial loses election it will be as historic as the loss of Left parties rule of West Bengal in 2011. There is a perceptible difference on the ground. If compared to the last assembly election people are more vocal against @AITCofficial this time. But, nobody can make mistake to underestimate @MamataOfficial . Mamata didi has dropped 74 sitting MLAs. Huge! It shows nervousness of TMC but it is certainly her serious effort to save the situation.

For 35 years, Bihar’s politics revolved around a few key names, JP trio (Lalu-Nitish-Paswan). Now, that chapter may be closing. With Nitish Kumar expected to move to the Rajya Sabha, questions are growing about what comes next, for the state and for the Janata Dal (United). Is this a natural transition? Or part of a larger strategy by the Bharatiya Janata Party to expand its hold? With new faces, shifting alliances, and changing vote banks, Bihar could be heading towards a completely new political reality. Is this the end of an era? @manishdekoder @umasudhir #NitishKumar #Bihar #NDA #BJP #JDU #Dekoder

A statement sparks a storm. Silence makes it bigger. When a claim linked Rajinikanth’s political exit to pressure from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, it didn’t just trigger outrage, it triggered questions. Why did the NDA take four days to respond? Was it strategy… or hesitation? With Vijay entering the political space, equations are shifting and every statement now carries weight. Rajinikanth has called the claim “untrue.” But the timing of reactions tells its own story. @umasudhir #Rajinikanth #Vijay #TamilNaduElections #Elections2026 #Dekoder

#TrinamoolCongress #Candidatelist A journalist-turned-politician, Devdeep Purohit—once The Telegraph’s political editor—has now been fielded by the Trinamool Congress from Khardaha in North 24 Parganas, a constituency steeped in fiscal legacy and political symbolism. Khardaha is no ordinary seat. For decades, it was the bastion of Asim Dasgupta, the long-serving finance minister of the Left Front government, who shaped Bengal’s fiscal narrative through years of ideological and economic churn. After the regime change in 2011, the mantle passed seamlessly to Amit Mitra, Mamata Banerjee’s trusted finance and industry minister, who retained the seat in both 2011 and 2016. When Mitra opted out of the 2021 elections citing health reasons, it marked not just a personal exit but a pause in a curious political tradition, Khardaha as the de facto home of Bengal’s finance ministers.

Gas cylinders enter Bengal’s poll battle. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee launched her party’s election campaign with a 2-km protest march in Kolkata, blaming the Centre for an LPG shortage. Supporters of the All India Trinamool Congress marched with cylinder cut-outs and banners targeting the Modi government. The Bharatiya Janata Party hit back, calling it a political stunt. The Tamil Nadu election battle has begun. Voting will take place on April 23, with results on May 4, right when the state enters peak summer heat. But this time there’s a 14-day gap before nominations, giving political parties more time to finalise alliances and strategies. While the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam alliance led by M. K. Stalin has largely settled seat-sharing, the NDA is still working through negotiations. And with new players like Vijay in the mix, the political equation could still shift. Expect weeks of intense campaigning, protests and political drama ahead. @umasudhir #TamilNaduElection #DMK #BJP #MKStalin #VijayTVK

Tensions between the United States and Iran are escalating, raising fears of a wider war in West Asia. Recent developments, including military activity around Iran’s key oil infrastructure and discussions in Washington about possible troop deployments by Donald Trump - have intensified concerns of a larger confrontation. Rising tensions have already sent oil prices surging, disrupting markets and raising concerns across global economies. Meanwhile, countries including India are navigating the crisis diplomatically, with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Narendra Modi engaging in discussions with Iran amid the growing uncertainty.

The 2026 election in West Bengal is shaping up to be more than just a political contest. It’s a battle between two competing visions of the state — with Mamata Banerjee defending her stronghold and the Bharatiya Janata Party pushing a high-intensity campaign to break through. But the debate has now expanded beyond governance. Issues like the SIR voter list row, the outsider narrative, and the mood of the rural heartland are shaping the political battleground. This election may be unpredictable but the journey will be intense. Can star power translate into political power? With actor Vijay entering politics through Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, the big question remains: Will fans turn into voters? History shows that celebrity popularity doesn’t always guarantee electoral success, as seen with several actor-politicians including Vijayakanth. Could Vijay become a disruptor in Tamil Nadu politics? #Vijay #TVK #TamilNaduPolitics #KhushbuSundar #DeKoder
