I don't care what the NBA allows, or how rules language gets interpreted ... Dribbling, picking up your dribble, using your right foot as your pivot foot, getting stuck and getting out of trouble only by lifting that foot to push off the other foot should not be allowed.

Rose getting hurt was inevitable. The same way it was for Ja, Wall, the same way it is for Scoot in a way. Small Guards that can’t shoot and have to rely at running at the rim are never going to be healthy. It’s just a rough archetype. A 1 seed is cool. What matters to me is the title

Am I crazy for saying I’d rather draft a player like Risacher than someone like DRose or Russ? At least Risacher you’d just not pay or give a friendly deal and you can move on. The other guys, they’re good enough where you have to give them the max but not good enough to do well in the playoffs

@AshNicoleMoss LeBron was arguably the first high profile athlete to never participate in The Weekend contests. He was a precedent center and bc of how big of a name he was it’s not likely that a lesser player could have made it a precedent

MJ and Kobe doing it didn’t make LeBron do it — so why the hell would LeBron doing it make (insert player) do it? it just doesn’t make any sense

@MasonYKB @Pintobean127 @Shoowtime_1 @_lukeoutbelow Well it’s rare to make it to the Super Bowl anyway. It’s rare to make it to the Super Bowl in year 2 of a QBs career. That’s why the sample is small. But there is a reason why those teams don’t make it back. Recently it’s been financial. Those QBs become too expensive

@SouthBroadSport @ltsMeBigT Very hard to make a case that Herbert had “worse” offensive support between the line & receivers so it makes no sense to use that a an excuse to award the far less productive player.

Justin Herbert threw for less yards than Drake Maye (4,394 vs 3,727). He threw less TD’s (31 vs 26). More INT’s (13-8). He completed a lower percentage of his passes (66.4% vs 72.0%). Averaged fewer Y/A (8.9 vs 7.3). Had a lower success-rate (54.7 vs 47.2), on a lower ADOT (8.3 vs 9.5). He took more sacks (54 vs 47). Had less big-time throws (4.9% vs 4.1%). & won less games (14-11). Absolute nonsense vote.
Sam Monson@SamMonsonNFL

I was the Justin Herbert vote. The guy had the worst offensive line in the NFL all season and despite that he was working miracles in almost every single game. Stafford's OL became 2/5ths as bad as Herbert's for 5 minutes and he became a turnover howitzer. He embodied 'value'.

Benjy Taylor, the men's basketball coach at Division II Tuskegee University, was escorted off the court in handcuffs by a security officer after a postgame incident in the handshake line with Morehouse College Saturday. Taylor and Tuskegee athletic director Reginald Ruffin both stated that Taylor asked the security officer to help remove multiple Morehouse football players who were "yelling obscenities" from the handshake line. LeBron James wants fans to understand it’s harder to play 82 games today than it was in the 80s or 90s 👀 “The game is different. I want people/our fans to understand playing 82 games in the 80s and 90s is not the same as playing 82 games in the 2020s. It’s just not. The way we play with the level of pace and speed we play at, it’s a different game now. It’s a lot of soft tissue injuries now because of it… when I first came in the league the biggest concern for injuries was like a high ankle sprain… Now you see the new high ankle sprain is the calf. Hopefully we get a handle on that from a medical standpoint but I just want the fans to understand the game is a little different” (Via @mindthegamepod)

LeBron James on how he’s evolved his game from early Cleveland and Miami years to today’s NBA in 2026: “It’s about having a growth mindset. The game of basketball evolves and changes… my first 7 years in CLE the game was slower pace with a lot of two bigs sitting in the paint…. In MIA we started to pick up the pace. We started to play more of a wide spread offense where we had Bosh play at the 5… You have to be able to adjust with the time while your getting older. For me it’s how can I still be effective off the ball. My usage rate today is down a lot more as it was in the past as far as handling the ball so how can I still be effective on the court?” (Via @mindthegamepod)

Accurate I have been saying it for years You see it in Kd and Bron. Lack of self awareness, lack of accountability, self doubt, and insecure. Mike and Kobe have more confidence and are secure in themselves. Comes from having a father. If you had a two parent healthy household thats a huge cheat code in life. Be grateful for God for that. But still super proud of KD and Bron for overcoming that hurdle and making it this far. The stats were really STACKED against them.

Ray Daniel’s says the difference between lebron James and Kobe Bryant is that Kobe had a father in his life and bron didn’t

@dockery58 @SamQuinnCBS So let’s say Luka gets supermax in dallas: How do the mavs get better? Are they in better position to beat OKC/Spurs? There is NO scenario to trade Luka in ‘24 or ‘25?

@SamQuinnCBS It’s a completely absurd premise. You and others are now entertaining it solely because Luka was traded to a bad team with limited assets for immediate roster upgrades. That isn’t Luka’s fault. It has no bearing on whether he should’ve been traded in the first place.

I think you can plausibly argue that trading Luka Doncic in a vacuum was a reasonable decision. The NBA is generally moving away from this sort of player (though he's so good I don't really think it matters). But the specific trade Nico Harrison made was inexcusably stupid.

Kevin Garnett rips the Europeans and says they brought flopping and other ‘weird sh*t’ to the NBA 😳 “If you like any of them Mfers up 1 on 1, half them Mfers can’t guard. It’s two sides to the ball… You line them Mfers up man Americans will destroy any MF you line up!… This isn’t always going to be international. International guys have brought a bunch of flopping to the game. I can’t f*cking stand it. Every other f*cking up and down they saying something to the ref. We got all this flopping and sh*t man. We weren’t doing all that sh*t before bro. I get it it’s been some greatness, but been some weirdness that we’ve taken from them. I hate that narrative ‘since international players start younger’ so what! They’re not putting out a better product.” (Via KG Certified Podcast)

@RyanJ_Heath What is misguided about Jason Garrett and a candidate? He has a win percentage of 56%. Only had ONE losing season when romo broke his collarbone and his GM refused to resign a rb that ran for 1800 yds the year before. had a top 10 offense and passing game almost every year

We are in the middle of the Coaching Revolution in the NFL It must be weird to be an Old Head kinda coach like Pete Carroll, Mike Tomlin or Aaron Glenn and not even REALIZE what is happening If you aren’t from the Mike Shanahan, Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay adjacent Coaching Tree then you are basically fucked Carroll, Tomlin and Glenn have been doing rah-rah shit their entire careers, and it’s worked to some extent But all that empty talk is gone now The entire NFL revolves around cutting edge TACTICAL advantages now There was a time when coaching was about motivating players and talking the talk, now it is about knowing what the opposition is gonna run and being 2 or 3 steps ahead If you hire a pure Motivator nowadays, your ceiling is low, your team isn’t gonna go anywhere
