I joined CS @HonTuya today as we presided over #WorldWetlandsDay2024 at Timboroa Dam in Uasin Gishu County hosted by Governor Hon.Jonathan Bii Chelilim. The theme for this year's #WorldWetlandDay underscores the urgency of protecting our Wetlands and Water.This event also serves as a platform to roll out the tree-planting initiatives, set by President William Samoei Ruto's and seeks to increase our forest cover to 15 billion trees.It is crucial for us to recognize that the preservation of wetlands is not just an environmental imperative but a shared responsibility. Also present were PS @Eng_F_Ngeno ,area MP Hon. Julius Rutto,Hon. Musa Sirma as well as members of the National Assembly Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining.

But Kericho residents have a positive story about Beatrice Kemei .She recently launched a full scholarship program which aims to benefit young mothers & married women who still wish to study & pursue their academic dreams.

I shared a cup of tea with teen mothers who are beneficiaries of my full scholarship programme as they shared their stories.With every story told differently,came a similar message of hope through second chances. Consequently,I would like to appreciate the freedom our constitution gives us on education that any body above 6yrs is admissible to any institution they qualify to. To @SpeakerKLusaka , just as the people of Bungoma gave you a second chance,teen mothers equally deserve a second chance to go to school and have a better future for them and generations to come.Think twice!

The decision by the Supreme Court to deny audience to AhmedNasir’s law firms is indicative enough of how the judiciary as an institution does not accept criticism. In a democracy, every institution is necessarily subject to criticism and the judiciary is no exemption.It is settled that the independence of the judiciary is not a prohibition against criticism and more so on matters corrupt Judges.

Second time in my 30 years law career that the courts refused me audience for calling the removal of corrupt judges from the courts. First time was in 2000 when I was ejected from court and told not to come back because I presented paper in @lawsocietykenya annual conference calling for the reconstitution of the High Court and the Court of Appeal afresh. No other lawyer in the history of Kenya was denied audience for calling out corrupt and incompetent judges.
