This is horrific. They are proposing to disestablish the team that investigates abuse in care on top of essentially all Māori leadership and advisory roles and practice support. This will have a huge impact on mokopuna and whānau.

For those that need their lines clearly drawn: Universities are rooted in colonialism, from their very inception on stolen land through to the imperialist intellectual traditions they uphold. The BARE MINIMUM response to this is a safe space for Māori upon whose back it exists.

As well as his electorate office, Chris Luxon also rents his Wgtn property to himself with the accommodation allowance. That means NZ taxpayers are paying for 2 of his 7 houses. If he's that worried about Govt spending, he could donate the properties to himself.
