I literally COULD NOT BELIEVE what I was hearing as I sat in a debate in Parliament yesterday. What was it on? SEND. What did I hear? Well… I thought it was recognised cross-party that something radical has to change when it comes to SEND support in schools? But the right-wing lot showed exactly how much they care. For starters, Reform didn’t even bother to show up. Are you even surprised at this point with those part-timers? No apologies for their outrageous words in the past on SEND children. Tice has previously said conditions like ADHD are overdiagnosed. Councillors making even more outrageous remarks. And Tice himself even calling the sight of children wearing ear defenders in classrooms “insane”. These are children. Honestly, how cruel do you have to be? Most jawdroppingly of all, yesterday, some Tories turned up to DEFEND parts of the current system. Yep, you read that correctly. Their government created an adversarial and underfunded system that failed children. They simply shrugged their shoulders when it came to helping mainstream schools do more. Labour? We're fixing the system for good. With children at the heart of everything we’re doing. More funding. Earlier support. Specialist staff. Inclusive, mainstream schools.
