@PulpLibrarian Great new opening titles though regardless. Brings back happy memories of watching TV in my childhood (although I didn't start watching Dr Who until Season 25 the following year).

@PulpLibrarian Still think this is the worst season of the classic series. Partly Grade's fault for putting JNT back in charge late in the day with no scripts, script editor or lead actor, and insisting he prioritise humour. Season 25 big improvement, 26 brilliant & unrecognisable from this.

Doctor Who season 24 (1987). New titles, new Doctor, but still the same problem: a lack of BBC confidence in the show. BBC TV continuity focuses on the galaxy of stars here, and less on the Doctor for some unknown reason. The Doctor visits a tower block, goes to Butlin's and gets to meet Tony Selby and Kate O'Mara again in season 24. We also see Sylvester McCoy move the Doctor from lighthearted jester to a more mysterious, even cunning figure. Time has been kinder to this season then reviewers were at the time; there is some interesting stuff lurking in the stories and a sense the show is moving onto a new track, if the Beeb will give it the time and budget to do so...

@CalCarrie @mellycatslave @gill1109 You're right to ridicule the very idea of such a "crusade" as inherently ridiculous as the notion all those people could possibly be wrong & critics of a verdict right is preposterous. I mean its not like its ever happened, Britain famously never has miscarriages of justice eh?

@jim_keoghan Guardian said after their takeover Newcastle's board studied what Everton did under Moshiri as a case study in what NOT to do. So it seems Kenwright was right after all when he said other clubs pondered "what would Everton do" when deciding strategy, just not in the way he meant.

Newcastle are the acid test for the PSR glass ceiling. So far it’s holding While they’ve definitely wasted cash, the difference between the established elite and the rest is that under PSR the latter get the chance to waste cash again and again (see United) The rest don’t

"We don't have the revenue of other clubs… the rules have made it very difficult." 👀 "I don't know a team that wouldn't suffer from that." 😳 "Losing Alex [Isak] last summer was a considerable blow." 😓 Pressure mounts on Eddie Howe after defeat in the Tyne-Wear derby 😬

@Glinner It is astonishing. But it's extraordinary some of the very obvious grifts (led by blatantly obvious charlatans & lifelong conmen/confidence tricksters using very old playbooks) that people fall for & keep falling for, oblivious to what is right in front of them. Isn't it Graham?

@BrookesNicholas @acnewsitics @spectatorindex Yes. Hereditary Trump Bone Spur Syndrome renders you too unfit in your youth to serve your country on the frontline at a time of war. But as with his father the symptoms will suddenly clear up if Barron runs for President in his 70's, leaving him "the healthiest candidate ever."

@RichMcLoughlin @zatzi Jacob "Educated Beyond his Intelligence" Rees-Mogg said anyone who didn't go to Eton & Oxbridge is an "intellectually potted plant..incapable of writing an articulate letter" & they probably shouldn't be a Tory candidate. The Rees-Moggs clearly big champions of the working class.

@BY1959 @Acyn @DanSpellma48867 Remarkable. Trump must have almost supernatural powers of regeneration & restoration. Or maybe his bone spurs just finally cleared up around 2016? Or maybe he just finds doctors who will say anything he wants them to for money, at any given time, from one extreme to the other?

@BY1959 @Acyn @DanSpellma48867 Extraordinary that since turning 70 Trump finds doctors who tell him he is the healthiest presidential candidate ever & now "the healthiest human being", yet in his youth another doctor told him he wasn't even healthy enough back then to serve in Vietnam in his teens/early 20's.

@churnwell He's lost a lot more than just the musical he is constantly ranting about on here (to Jimmy Mulville who won't read what he says or else nobody in particular). His wife. His kids. His career. His credibility. His way. His sanity. All critical thinking skills. All self awareness.

@OliverKamm Lembit becoming a Putinite William Joyce for money, cynically profiting from pumping propaganda for Putin and his proxies to help Vlad undermine our western liberal democracies, is especially remarkable and repellent given his Estonian parents came to the UK fleeing Stalin.

@OliverKamm Lembit (like fellow pro-Reform, ex-Lib Dem grifter friend Mark Oaten) doesn't believe most of what he says, knowing its absurd. He's been heavily in debt & became a pro-Putin William Joyce to make money. Charlatan who admits he now backs Farage as he "goes wherever the money is".

@stevecorrigan64 @lembitopik Lembit's decision to become a Putinite William Joyce, propagandizing for Vlad & his proxies in the West as they attempt to destroy our liberal democracies & usher in authoritarianism, is particularly remarkable & repellant given his Estonian parents came to the UK fleeing Stalin.

@stevecorrigan64 @lembitopik Nowadays Lembit just says whatever he thinks Farage, Trump & Putin want him to say, or what gets attention, at any given time. He doesnt believe most of what he says, knowing it's absurd bollocks. Grifting fraud who, by his own admission, politically goes "wherever the money is".
