threecastlesburning.libsyn.com/adoration-and-… NEW EPISODE of Three Castles Burning. Orson Welles had a peculiar relationship with Dublin. His stage debut at The Gate Theatre is the stuff of legend. Later, he returned to scenes of protest against the same theatre for hosting him. This sketch of The Gate is by Orson himself. On all the usual platforms: Spotify, iTunes etc) With thanks to Patrons for keeping the podcast ad-free. We all have enough ads in our lives....

Surely must take a heart of stone, or irredeemably corrupted by vice & addiction, to exploit innocence this way. To victimise the already pathetically downtrodden & helpless. Researching this topic made the Time Machine a very sad place. Hug your little ones a little tighter.

A little known horror of 18th century Dublin was the evil practice of child abandonment & robbery known as "stripping". The kid's own parent (as an act of abandonment) or a stranger would rob the kid of their clothing and any possessions and leave them naked on the street.

@Rubberbandits It was so good and I was terribly distraught when it ceased. Tried to find something similar with no luck so any recommendations would be appreciated.

The Islands edge thing is reminding me of Breo. It was a genuinely delicious wheat beer that Guinness launched. people weren't ready for it. My da bought me a pint of it when I was well underage because he refused to believe that anything that pale could get me drunk.

I was playing on this show with Robert Plant when this happened, blew me away… not many people have noticed this but that killer bass line is a steal from Roots Manuva ‘Witness’ but the 2nd note is a semi tone different. What a tune. youtu.be/09Z3Ww94IUk?fe…

Probably the best thing you'll see today. In 2017, a group of developers hilariously competed for who could create worst volume control interface in the world. The results 🧵 1/22

@CianMcGar Heard on good authority that they used to do that years ago when the running time of the film was the same as the given time slot and they hadn't factored in time for the breaks

Just stumbled across this on the net. Fascinating stuff. 'dig' is the phonetic pronunciation of the Gaelic word 'dtuig' (understand), shortened from 'an dtuigeann tú?' (do you understand? ' youtu.be/1Pa14-obu1c
