As a Councilmember that has a sizable Muslim community (Yemeni, Bengali, Turkish, Uzbek & Pakistani Americans) and several mosques in your district, you are out of touch with Muslim your constituents and how they worship. Muslim men are mandated to perform Jumah, Friday prayer at a mosque. Every small mosque in NYC at times has an overflow of men praying on the sidewalk and street. Where ever you stand to pray it is believed to be blessed and angels stand witness to that prayer. To insinuate that the men worshiping lined up to intimidate and engage pedophilic behavior in front of the girl’s high school is blasphemous. The girls schools was blessed by their prayer in the presence of angels. Muslims are taught to respect people of the book and their houses of worship. Who are the people of the book? The Abrahamic faiths, Christians and Jews. Stop weaponizing Islam and Muslims and creating divisions for likes on social media and taking jabs at Mayor Mamdani every time an opportunity presents itself. You are sowing hate and hate leads to violence. Brooklyn has in the last couple of months had one too many hate crimes against Muslims.

I am aware of the disturbing incident targeting worshippers during Friday prayers outside the Baitul Mamur Mosque in Brooklyn, where a man praying was struck with an egg. 

That hateful act is unacceptable and an affront to the values that define us as New Yorkers. 

My administration is committed to rooting out anti-Muslim hate in all its forms and ensuring every New Yorker can live and worship in safety and dignity. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating this incident.

BREAKING: Two US Navy fighter jets have just had a MID-AIR COLLISION during the air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho It appears all four crew members punched out of the aircraft, which then fell to the ground and exploded. Pray for the crew. Their conditions are unknown.

Michael Fanone… From “no obvious severe injuries” and “it’s fine now” to a photo in a hospital bed and a media tour. He deserves to be in prison for his role in the January 6th operation. Audit his bank accounts and I’m sure you’ll find his motivation.

🚔 As a retired law enforcement officer with over 25 years on the job, this photo turns my stomach. Michael Fanone swore an oath to the shield, the same shield so many of us wore with pride and honor. Instead, he turned January 6, 2021 into a personal brand: media tours, book deals, Biden medals, and nonstop political grandstanding while calling the rest of us who question the narrative “disgraces.” A federal judge just ordered the full release of his body camera footage. Good. The American people, and especially those who have worn the shield, deserve the unedited truth. If that footage shows he exaggerated injuries, inflated what happened, or straight-up lied under oath in congressional testimony, he should not get a book deal or a CNN gig. He should face the same accountability any cop would: perjury charges and prison time. The shield is not a prop for political theater. Real officers know that. Time to release the full video and let the truth speak.
