@nselikoff @NickSayers Not "easing" that way, but there is a kind of easing another way: If you care about position across the day, there's a peeking effect where atmosphere bends light from below-the-horizon. A rising sun appears earlier and setting lingers later.

Does the position of the sun along the horizon as it rises change at different rates throughout the year? I.e. in animation terms does it ease in and out of the equinox and solstice positions? @NickSayers
