I tried to give @cursor_ai money. They wouldn't take it. Sub failed. Support said "try Cash App and ACH." I pulled the Stripe session JSON. payment_method_types: ["card"]. Cash App and ACH aren't even enabled in their checkout. So I reverse-engineered their billing flow, wrote a 2-minute fix doc, and sent it to support. They ignored it. Was ready to buy a full year of Pro+. I guess Sam and Yna would rather let the money walk. @mntruell your AI company can tab autocomplete my functions but can't help complete a payment. Fix doc I created for your team since they won't read it: gist.github.com/marklearst/6ed…

Coding tutorials are not dead, the hype around them is I have a bunch of videos on the most popular React keywords on YT (useEffect, react query, redux, etc) and they still get consistent views today There's still a bunch of people who come to YouTube with the intention of learning However, it is true that the general hype and interest around these types of videos has died down If I post today a traditional "Learn X tutorial", it will get absolutely no views and be my worst performing video However if I post the same video and title it "The Most Important Library You Need to Know in React" it would do well Same video, different packaging The entire ecosystem has changed. There's much more competition now for people's attention. And we also have short-form content to compete against It's not that coding tutorials are dead. It's that the way we've been posting them no longer works And now more than ever, it's important to actually know how to code, so there still is a need for educational content

Coding tutorials are dead! I stumbled across a video that essentially said that yesterday (by @MelkeyDev ). And ... I agree. The "good old" long-form tutorial videos with detailed explanations that did NOT just share a quick solution but the actual WHY behind a problem + its solution are kind of dying. And I personally find that kind of sad. Not just because I create(d) them (and thoroughly enjoyed that) but because I think they DID add real value. Otherwise I wouldn't have created them. I still think TRULY understanding something is valuable. Being able to figure stuff out and dive deeper is useful. Being an expert at something (or becoming one) is fun. But shorter attention spans, the current macroeconomics and - of course - AI have changed that. People are used to getting instant solutions, not lengthy explanations. They don't care about the WHY (or why not in a certain other way). The way people learn is changing. And content creators like I will have to adapt or do something else. One way to adapt is to switch to tech-tainment. Share opinions, reactions etc. I do that, too. But I also think there is room for AI-enriched, "proper" education & teaching. Because I DO think that AI can be a huge enabler and you can get the best of both worlds: Deep, human-guided knowledge & explanation, combined with the personalized, instant help AI offers.

@WilliamNutt, I bought (resubbed) to Notion A-Z for my B-Day and it's be 5 days and I've not received any invite. Pretty bummed as billing contact says: Questions? Contact us at billing@notion.vip. auto message to FAQs and the FAQs don't have a fix for my issue.

Most people treat AI like a shortcut to insight. It’s not. It’s a mirror. It reflects your clarity... or your confusion! If you don’t feed it real signal, it’ll remix the internet’s junk drawer with perfect fluency. Build with intent. Or don’t bother pressing Enter. #AI #buildinpublic #dev #design #signalovernoise #contextmatters
