If you’re ever feeling like your dreams may be too big or audacious, just remember The Rock has a line of shampoos and conditioners, despite being completely bald.

@sweatystartup Share ideas for what you may get up to together, with estimated budgets. Then, invite all to contribute *anonymously* to a shared pot before the trip is finalized, at the level they can manage. Share pot value with group; invite last round of anon contributions, then plan & go.

Always a tricky situation: Bachelorette / bachelor party with 10 ppl invited. You’re doing well financially and taking 2.5 days away from family. There are 4 25 year olds with no money who can’t afford virtually anything. They don’t want to do anything that costs money. What is your move? Go with the flow or pay for them?

@ZubyMusic Lots of love for the US, too. That said: Where’s gun violence, on that list? (Perhaps in a list above this one, as ‘annoyed’ doesn’t feel quite strong enough a word for how to feel about it.)

The USA is one of my favourite countries but these are 10 things that annoy me: 1. stupid tipping culture 2. seed oils, high fructose corn syrup, and random chemicals in many foods 3. random fees & taxes not included in listed prices 4. most cities are completely unwalkable 5. awful, divisive, braindead media and advertising 6. ugly billboards everywhere for accident lawyers and fast food 7. some basic goods are comically expensive 8. insane levels of ad driven consumerism over random, pointless products 9. dumb racial identity politics and manufactured 'black vs white' bullcrap 10. constant Big Pharma ads on everything

How we disagree says a lot about us. In fact, there is possibly more to learn about a person through the process of disagreement than through the process of agreement.

A sobering thought on the speed of AI: Something that took 50 eng, 4 PMs, and 1.5 designers 6-12mo to build in 2018/2019 can now be (mostly) done by two people in a few days. And I know this because I led the team in 2018. And a 2-person team just pitched me on it. Gulp.

On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Our senior editor Alan Taylor found these pre- and postwar images of the city on his visit to the U.S. National Archives in 2016: theatlantic.com/photo/2016/05/…

I’ve been a hospital chaplain now for eight years at hundreds of deathbeds. I want to tell you something I’ve witnessed. Most people, at the end, realize they’ve spent a lot of their life hiding. Sometimes by choice, or because they could not safely choose to be themselves. ➡️

The answer is always who not how. I couldn't hit 10 figures until I got a coach. I didn’t finish my book until I got an editor. Humans > tactics

“I think it's so foolish for people to want to be happy. Happy is so momentary--you're happy for an instant and then you start thinking again. Interest is the most important thing in life; happiness is temporary, but interest is continuous.” - Georgia O'Keeffe

I feel like this still isn’t getting enough attention. This record is something that makes me very proud and extremely optimistic about the future of 🇨🇦. Especially because my family was fortunate enough to immigrate here 60 years ago.
