@not_simantak Love the vision for BigSet! Recommended feature: automatically track source URLs, timestamps, and license/attribution info (if available) for every piece of data the agents collect - would make datasets much more trustworthy, reproducible, and legally responsible.

@Patentplay @HistorianUSA1 @baker_girlie If the timing chain snapped, the engine would require a complete rebuild which is not something a BMW dealership would normally do and put a warranty on. It is something a small shop or a DIY would do, if there is enough value in the car to justify the labour

@HistorianUSA1 @baker_girlie This explains a lot. My 328i died out on I-4 in Orlando. Only 1 BMW Dealer. Yeah they said Germany looked at reports and said I needed a $17,000 engine. So I sold the car online to an Aircraft Engine Mechanic. A month later he sent me a video of the car running. Just timing chain

Top BMW tech fired after just 3 months for ‘overquoting’ a repair? This guy was working 6 days a week and pulling 140 billable hours per pay period. Customer brings in a hybrid making noise on deceleration. He finds a completely blown differential and quotes the replacement plus rear axles as a precaution — standard practice to protect the shop and customer from future issues and liability. Warranty covered the diff but not the $5k axles. Foreman handled the upset customer, repair was done, no immediate problems. Weeks later the customer complains the axles weren’t replaced… and the tech gets fired for overquoting. He says another technician was fired for the exact opposite — not quoting enough when a car came back broken. There are always two sides to every story, but if this is accurate, this hard-working mechanic is getting a raw deal.

A couple of months ago I noticed an electrical box - it was hidden in some bushes in my yard Had two power cables plugged into it Today, curiosity got the better of me- So I started digging I pulled at the wires and started digging down, untangling them as I went. Ever so careful not to accidentally cut them. After a few hours I hit something solid, something that the wires were feeding into Concrete. I frantically started widening the hole I had made in the tough soil- trying to find the edges of this mysterious structure And then I saw it: a metal D-ring. Attached to a hatch. The previous owners told me not to go digging around in the yard I think I found their secret

I have shown some data in the past, where it is clear what kind of person @SiamKidd is. He is not one of you who wants to help you, or has something good in mind. His mission is pure greed for profit, written by dubious fraudulent actions. Do what you want. The topic of @SiamKidd is closed for me. Whoever supports an impostor makes himself one. We are probably going to seize Kharg Island, and we should. Kharg is tiny (about 8 square miles, population ~20,000, mostly oil workers), but it's the Iranian regime's economic lifeline: it handles 90% of the country's crude oil exports. Controlling it would let the US: -Let exports flow again under controlled conditions (for non-Iranian or allied tankers, or to ease global prices without fully rewarding the regime). -Choke Iran's revenue hard... cut off their main cash source, accelerating regime pressure or collapse. -Indirectly squeeze China (Iran's biggest oil buyer, taking a huge chunk of Kharg exports) and disrupt parts of their supply chain/energy security, without direct confrontation. Trump is playing chess. Let the man cook.

welcome to the hermes agent community. this is the place for setup help, configs, bug reports, feature requests, and sharing what you're building with hermes. what to post: your setup, your issues, your configs, how you're using hermes, migrations from other tools, screenshots of what's working, questions about models and hardware. what not to post: ads, self promotion unrelated to hermes agent, spam, off topic content. mods will remove it. if you see someone asking for help and you know the answer, help them. that's how open source communities work. if you spot spam or ads flag it so mods can clean it up. whether you're getting started or running hermes on a 5090 24/7, you belong here. 10K github stars is where we are. 100K is the target. do whatever you can to help this project reach that. let's build.

i just became a mod of x/LocalLLaMA. if you're running local models on your own hardware and want in, the community is open. pinned and highlighted on my profile. approving members starting today. drop your setup below and i'll get you in. 3060, 3090, 4090, 5090, AMD, whatever you're running. all welcome. if you're hitting issues with hermes agent, llama.cpp, model selection, configs, i'm here. let's make local AI accessible for everyone.

let me get you started in local AI and bring you to the edge. if you have a GPU or thinking about diving into the local LLM rabbit hole, first thing you do before any setup is join x/LocalLLaMA. this is the community that will help you at every step. post your issue and we will direct you, debug with you, and save you hours of work. once you're in, follow these three: @TheAhmadOsman the oracle. this is where you consume the latest edges in infrastructure and AI. if something dropped you hear it from him first. his content alone will keep you ahead of most. @0xsero one man army when it comes to model compression, novel quantization research, new tools and tricks that make your local setup better. you will learn, experiment, and discover things you didn't know existed. @Teknium maker of Hermes Agent, the agent i use every day from @NousResearch. from Teknium you don't just stay at the frontier, you get your hands on the tools before everyone else. this is where things are headed. if you follow me follow these three and join the community. you will be ahead of most people in this space. if you run into wrong configs, stuck debugging hardware, or can't get a model to load, post there so we can help. get started with local AI now. not only understand the stack but own your cognition. don't pay openai fees on top of giving them your prompts, your research, and your most valuable thinking to be monitored and metered. buy a GPU and build your own token factory.

@BrianRoemmele Brian, there are some real innovation of the type you talk about occurring in the decentralised AI space where algorithmic incentives shape output, not corporate structure. Decentralised training is becoming a reality despite latency challenges…

Phone confessions: I had a long talk with an executive at a large AI company about the realities they face. He was one of the folks that booked cohort 1 of my 17 minutes with me, it was for non corporate folks, but he was honest with me and paid 17 times (no accident, thank you) more than the minimum. He wanted to remain anonymous but I told him I knew who he was but will ignore it. I had my plan beforehand and built an approach, honesty my only poach. My 17 minutes of monologue (really non stop talking) was centered around on this patent and the story of how a massive well funded company had the future that would take it out being built literally in THE BASEMENT by a hacker in 1975. What was it? Steven Sasson developed the FIRST portable, battery operated, self-contained digital camera at Kodak. It weighed 8 pounds used a new Fairchild CCD image sensor having only 100 × 100 pixels (0.01 megapixels). The images were digitally recorded onto a cassette tape, a process that took twenty-three seconds per image. It only took images in black and white. As he set out on his design project, he envisioned a camera without mechanical moving parts (although his device did have moving parts, such as the tape drive). Well this genius in the basement (or garages or kitchen tables) are never encouraged in ANY corporate environment especially “go to market” startups. The arrogance level and loose money with a desire to say “yes sir” to the they-must-be-smarter-than-anyone-because-they-are-running-an-AI-company folk, makes anyone with they REAL outlier ideas kicked down be the crab pot (not ironic) colleagues and bosses. This Kodak moment is playing out at all major AI companies today and it will be the undoing of US AI. The only company that is facing this is XAI and Elon, he just about burned down the entire process. The other companies just got magnitudes worse over the last 6 weeks. Some context directly a through my ~80 GitHub (all anonymous for reasons) I got to know 100s of actual builders at these companies and interact sometimes hourly with them. Some know me through here and have the guts to say it (reasons) and most know “me” from my repos. I get to see beautiful talent being wasted. So today I told this executive that everything they are spending time and money on will be a waste in 3 years and they need to pivot to a new technology now and most importantly they have a garage team already doing it but they shut them up, like I said, all HR based companies do. Ain’t no innovations will come with this mindset. He got emotional as I give him the X-ray of what he knew was the reality. It is just no one in the inside could say it and I just did. The second point was open source and China. They have no plan and there is yelling. At the company whenever it is proposed by just about all the builders there. I told him that because I knew and he freaked out because he was one of them. So the call was a good one for an early Saturday morning. It is my hope he follows through on the plans I helped with. And the possibility of officially advising the company. But I would not bet on it. Egos will be very high until the accountants take over. Why did I do this and why am I telling you? He knew I would write this and encouraged me. The problem of this arrogance is systemic and dangerous to not just the AI industry but to the entire US economy. As money from the Middle East goes dry for AI the shock wave 1 has hit. The next 5 shock waves will be far bigger and impossible to hide. If innovation and garage thinking like China has in AI right now does not rise, we are in layers of trouble. In the basements of ALL of these AI companies are silent geniuses that hold the future of the company. They are ignored like Steven Sasson was in 1975. The current hardware approach, software approach and model training as well as the model technology is broken. This is out Kodak moment for AI. Now back to the garage for me. Suits notified.

i run every model through octopus invaders. same prompt, same game spec if a model can build this autonomously on a single GPU it passes. if it can't it doesn't. qwen 3.5 9B Q4 on a RTX 3060. first attempt was blank screen built 2,699 lines across 11 files and nothing rendered. i wrote it off as a ceiling. then last night i came back with a precise bug list and the same model on the same card fixed every single one surgically. game came to life. enemies spawning, background rendering, collisions working. but bullets didn't fire and the enemies looked like colored squares instead of octopi. today i pushed again. listed 9 more bugs. the agent read every file, patched across 4 modules, validated syntax and restarted the server on its own. bullets fire. enemies look like actual pixel art. screen shake works. the game is playable and i genuinely enjoyed it. level upgrades still don't trigger and there's more to fix but i'm iterating on a single 12GB card running everything locally. every file, every prompt, every output stays on my machine. 29 tok/s generation, 417 tok/s prefill, 128K context window on a card that most people bought to play warzone. if you use AI in any part of your life and you have a computer with a GPU in it you should not be sleeping on this. the model weights are free. the hermes agent framework is free. your data never leaves your house. own your cognition.

hey if you have a 3060, or any GPU with 8GB or more sitting in a drawer right now, that thing can run 9 billion parameters of intelligence autonomously. and you don't know it yet. 2 hours ago i posted that 9B hit a ceiling. 2,699 lines across 11 files. blank screen. said the limit for autonomous multifile coding on 9 billion parameters is real. then i audited every file. found 11 bugs. exact file, exact line, exact fix. duplicate variable declarations killing the script loader. a canvas reference never connected to the DOM. enemies with no movement logic. particle systems called on the class instead of the instance. fed that list as a single prompt to the same Qwen 3.5 9B on the same RTX 3060 through Hermes Agent. it fixed all 11. surgically. patch level edits across 4 files. no rewrites. no hallucinated changes. game boots. enemies spawn, move, collide. background renders. particles fire. and here's what nobody is talking about. this is a 9 billion parameter model running a full agentic framework. Hermes Agent with 31 tools. file operations, terminal, browser, code execution. not a single tool call failed. the agent chain never broke. most people think you need 70B+ for reliable tool use. this is 9B on 12 gigs doing it clean. the model didn't fail. my prompting strategy did. the ceiling is not the parameter count. the ceiling is how you prompt it. this is not done. bullets don't fire yet. boss fights need wiring. but the screen that was black 2 hours ago now has a full game rendering in real time. iterating right now. anyone with a GPU from the last 5 years should be paying attention to what is happening right now.

9B on a 3060. 2,699 lines. 11 files. blank screen. Qwen 3.5 9B Q4 running through Hermes Agent wrote the full Octopus Invaders project autonomously. config, audio, particles, background, enemies, player, ui, game loop, README. structured the directory, separated concerns, documented everything. then it selfdiagnosed 10 bugs and patched them across files. fixed variable references, missing classes, broken directory paths. even created a reusable Hermes skill for future game builds unprompted. the code reads like a senior dev wrote it. clean architecture, proper separation, professional naming. but CONFIG.canvas is null on line 1 of initGame(). the game crashes before a single frame renders. 9B understands structure. it can architect, scaffold, and debug individual files. what it can't do is hold 10 files in context and wire them together correctly. duplicate Bullet classes across two files with incompatible interfaces. static method calls on instance based classes. enemies that spawn but never move because there's no y += speed. 35B on a 3090 built 3,483 lines in one pass and it ran. 9B built 2,699 lines across multiple iterations and the screen is black. the ceiling for autonomous multifile coding on 9B parameters is real. still iterating. trying a singlefile version of the same prompt next to isolate what 9B can actually close on.
