Unfortunately myself and a lot of others I've seen have reached this point. "What is the point anymore?" Creating as a small creator just isn't worth it in this ecosystem. Each update only makes it harder for smaller creators to be seen naturally. #UEFN #FNCreate #Fortnite

@dummblond Yes. Aside from the money (it helps us live), the thought of this situation is depressing. Even if you have a "real" job that generates the money you need to survive, creating for 0 players is depressing, you'd never open UEFN. You'd dedicate those free hours to something else.

And this is what I’ve felt for the past three years… I miss it but at what cost? Even taking the money out of it. I miss having players… I miss getting messages from players about how they love my games. I miss the connections here. It’s just gone now. I’ve also asked Epic this very question.

@ruinedtouch @duos_with_dad I also care about Discover and the entire ecosystem, otherwise I wouldn't have written this post. The current situation is terrible for everyone, let's be clear. The only positive change is adding a homebar for Epic's Picks maps, all the other 100 changes are negative.

@RayBenefield I started create in 1.0 when you couldn't remove fall damage from the map. From creations that helped players improve, to creations for players entertainment. But we've gotten to the point where it's 50% fun and 50% money since things got more serious with Discover + UEFN.

@RayBenefield I appreciate Ray, but we have to keep in mind that for many people (not for spammers), this is a job, whether we create it alone or with a team. This situation is demotivating for everyone. Teams are also leaving for other reasons than the Discover situation.

Dear creators... Create cuz you love it. Create cuz you want a game that you would play. Create for your friends and make it fun. Find new friends with what you create. Discover controls lottery based success, not all success. The are ways to grow slow without going full-time.

@GucciU9k Si, come anche la new top rated per nuove isole. Ma nelle Tab di ora non ci si finisce nemmeno pregando tutti i giorni. Stesso problema anche con le Tab di Star Wars, il Callout ridicolo, le Collections è una discarica di mappe con 0 giocatori, gonfiano i numeri le solite 4.

@detail_mon79250 Honestly, I'm about to give up too. I open UEFN and look at the projects for 20 minutes, wondering why I should create if the map isn't seen by anyone? (I'm talking about original maps with many hours of work).

@marseckFN Yeah I’m done with the platform. I’ve made maps that took months to get polished and provide unique experiences only to get 0 players… meanwhile some kid buys a brainrot map off discord and gets a couple hundred players and ends up in trending tab… Why even bother.

@GucciU9k Per non parlare delle Tab "normali", 80-120 mappe sbattute li a caso come una discarica. Roba che se hai una fanbase, te le giocano e ti fanno arrivare in queste tab normali, altrimenti nemmeno questo, impossibile finirci. Creala ora una fanbase con il gioco che fa 800 CCU peak.

@GucciU9k Si, 10-20 minuti sono un insulto per chi pubblica mappe nuove. Capisco il fatto di risolvere il problema spam che era una concorrenza a chi pubblicava più RVB al giorno, ma questo tocca anche chi pubblica progetti con tanto lavoro dietro e non ha una community.

For the past 9 months, the storm in maps has been bugged. In new maps after 15-20mins, the storm becomes invisible (no timer and no circle, but it still moves and deal damage). This bug has recently worsened, now affecting even OLDER MAPS. @Flak @FNCreate forums.unrealengine.com/t/invisible-st…

Hey @FNCreate, I appreciate the effort to combat spam maps and improve how Discover looks. But negatively impacting the entire creator ecosystem instead of addressing the root cause isn’t going to solve the problem. We’ve seen changes like this multiple times, and they’ve never actually stopped bad actors. If anything, they impact legitimate creators’ worse. I understand the goal is to reduce Discover being flooded with identical thumbnails, but if the root issue is addressed and spam creators are reduced, that problem naturally decreases. Then smaller, targeted improvements could be made instead of another large scale change that affects everyone. How many more times is Epic going to make changes that impact the entire creator ecosystem instead of focusing on those actually causing the issues? For example, two of my projects are being affected. Color Drop Brick Battles appears to be flagged due to similarity with my original Color Drop. That’s intentional branding so players can recognize the series. Color Drop Jedi Training is planned to follow the same approach. Zombielike is a completely original concept, with a thumbnail inspired by iconic zombie imagery outside of Fortnite. I haven’t seen any thumbnails within the ecosystem that it closely resembles. At this point, I’m holding off on updating these projects. That’s not ideal for my players, but I’m not going to strip away branding and identity to work around a system that isn’t addressing the real issue. I’ve invested significantly into these assets, and replacing them isn’t a reasonable solution. The focus should be on addressing the source of the problem, not creating friction for legitimate creators.

Hey @FNCreate I'm not here for the thumbnails, can you fix physics? Ty 😁 I abandoned a new map with physics 3 weeks ago. When a prop is hit by a weapon, it no longer receives 5x the force of damage, the prop shakes, and sometimes doesn't move if hit from above.

@duos_with_dad A few days ago, I updated 2 maps, both had a green title and green thumbnails, I was forced to change the title because it marked red, and the thumbnails received a yellow warning. GG! I can't imagine what awaits me with this new change.

I’ve never understood why these types of changes only apply to new publishes. All it does is benefit the creators who don’t update their projects. We saw the same thing when “XP” was removed from thumbnails. Many creators kept benefiting simply because they didn’t push new versions. There are plenty of bad actors who haven’t updated since similar changes were put in place for thumbnails and titles. If they have not updated since those changes, why would they entertain the idea of updating now? Edit: Also, how is this going to be managed? Is it going to be like titles and people with higher CCUs can basically steal someone's thumbnail like was possible with titles?

@Falin_UEFN @FNCreate Imagine you release a new (good) map, it's placed at the 75th slot, gets 130,000 impressions with a total of 10 plays, and then it's removed. What do you gain? 10 plays = nothing. You missed an opportunity.
