@MarioNawfal Not entirely true, but also why Canada announced a massive critical mineral deal with the US on the 2nd, and just the other day the critical mineral processing plant is near completion set to rival China's processing capability.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S can't replace its own destroyed radars because Iran just choked off the minerals needed to build them. West Point just published an analysis showing sulphur trade through the Strait of Hormuz is nearly dead, and sulphur is what you need to extract copper and cobalt from ore. Those metals go into everything from microprocessors to jet engines to the explosives in missiles. It'll take over 30,000 kg of copper just to replace the two major radars Iran destroyed in Bahrain and Qatar. At least 9 radars have been targeted across the region. The damage status of each is still unknown. The cost could be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. In the meantime, sulphur prices have spiked 165% year over year. This is huge because only 6% of US defense contractors have transparent supply chains, so military planners are just now realizing they can't actually manufacture their way out of this war. A West Point analyst warns it could cost double or more than before the war to replace destroyed weapons, assuming markets can even provide enough minerals at all. Source: Guardian, ABC News

🚨🇮🇷🇮🇱🇶🇦🇸🇦 Israel crossed Iran's energy red line by striking the South Pars gas field, and now both sides are torching each other's energy infrastructure across the Gulf. Iran fired back at Israel's Haifa refinery, Qatar's Ras Laffan (the world's largest LNG plant), plus refineries in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Israel went after facilities that produce 730 million cubic meters of gas daily. The Strait of Hormuz is effectively dead. Traffic dropped 96% in the first 18 days of war, from thousands of transits to just 98. Saudi Arabia is now desperately pumping oil west through pipelines to Yanbu on the Red Sea to bypass the strait. If Iran hits Yanbu, analysts say 5-6 million barrels a day disappear from global markets and oil could hit $150. Brent crude has already jumped from the $70s to $115 since the war started. Every major energy facility that gets hit pushes prices higher. This is now a global energy crisis that's about to slam inflation and interest rates worldwide. Source: Wall Street Journal

California squirrels are eating rodents in broad daylight. In California’s Briones Regional Park, researchers observed a startling new behavior: California ground squirrels, typically known for eating nuts and seeds, are now hunting, killing, and consuming voles, a smaller rodent species in their habitat. A study in the Journal of Ethology documented 74 squirrel-vole interactions, with 42% involving squirrels stalking, pouncing on, and eating voles. This behavior, observed almost daily, marks the first recorded instance of widespread carnivory in this species. While squirrels have occasionally eaten insects or bird eggs, actively hunting warm-blooded prey is unprecedented. Student-recorded videos show squirrels chasing voles, restraining them with forepaws, biting their necks, and consuming their flesh or organs. The behavior may stem from a vole population surge—nearly seven times the state’s ten-year average—prompting squirrels to exploit this abundant protein source. Squirrels of all ages and sexes participated, suggesting a potential lasting adaptation. It’s unclear if this carnivorous trend will continue once vole numbers normalize, but the discovery reveals the surprising adaptability of even well-known animals. For those who followed my recent twitter dialogue regarding MAiD. I know the person in the video. It was outrageous that she was offered MAiD at Vancouver General. This 84 year old just hiked up a volcano in Guatemala! @AmandaAchtman

I met an 84-year-old woman who was offered euthanasia at a Canadian hospital practically upon arrival. Miriam didn’t want to die. She recovered well and travelled to Cuba, Mexico, and Guatemala. Stop offering death to people who have adventures to lead!

J.D. Vance's MAGA political career is over. Before I explain why, let me share a story from Chinese history. During the Three Kingdoms period, Yuan Shao was a powerful warlord in northern China. He had a strategic advisor named Tian Feng, who desperately urged Yuan Shao not to go to war with Cao Cao. Yuan Shao ignored his advice and instead threw Tian Feng in prison. As predicted, Yuan Shao was decisively defeated by Cao Cao. A jailer came to congratulate Tian Feng, saying, "Sir, you were right! The lord will surely release you later." Tian Feng replied, "No, this is the end for me. Our lord is extremely stubborn. If he had defeated Cao Cao, I might have had a chance. But now that he has lost, he will definitely have me killed—because looking at me again would only be a fresh humiliation to his pride." Tian Feng indeed was killed later. Today, Trump is Yuan Shao, and J.D. Vance is Tian Feng. Trump's failure in Iran has proven that Vance was right to oppose this war. Yet it is precisely this correctness that Trump can never accept—because acknowledging it would be an unbearable insult to his absolute sense of infallibility.

For over a year, serious concerns were raised about the Kwantlen Student Association. Conservative MLA Korky Neufeld flagged it early. The warnings were there. Clear as day. The government chose to ignore it. Now, after things spiral and public pressure builds, they’re finally stepping in with a probe. That is not accountability. It is a delayed institutional response to a failure that should have been addressed long ago. Students pay the price when oversight fails. And once again, it took far too long for this NDP government to act. biv.com/news/rob-shaw-…

Exposing Beijing’s Connections to the Starmer Chagos/Diego Garcia Bad Deal… “Mr Taylor was arrested along with Matthew Aplin, 43, from Pontyclun, south Wales, and Steve Jones, 68, from Powys, Wales. All three suspects, who were held on suspicion of assisting Chinese intelligence, had connections to the Labour Party.” The origins and influence network behind the Chagos deal just keep going deeper, twisting and spreading… msn.com/en-gb/news/wor…
