a misconception i want to address as well … people keep saying new construction taxes “surprised” them. no, what surprised you is that nobody forced you to understand what was actually being assessed. if your loan officer is not walking you through affordability based on the highest likely tax assessment once that home is fully built, they are failing you. due diligence is your job too.
