The idea that neighborhoods should be walkable is lovely. The idea that idiot tyrannical bureaucrats can decide by fiat where you're "allowed" to drive is perhaps the worst imaginable perversion of that idea--and, make no mistake, it's part of a well-documented plan.

You know that rat running traffic is not going to solve this issue. This is somthing TH should actually focus on.

@matbono @BetterStreetsTH @LutfurRahmanTH Thanks for this Mat. The concerns local people are emailing me about are not really around convenience. It is more about social problems. They say that the closure has attracted drug dealers and other unsavory behaviour and therefore they would prefer if it was reopened.

Do any of the really good bits of London's cycle superhighways (yes, I know we don't call them that any more) pass through busy town centres? i.e. sufficiently wide protected lanes in places with lots of businesses and pedestrians? What other town centres are good for cyclists?
