Yes - the CARDANO SUMMIT is expensive No - it is not wasteful spending Yes - I work for @Cardano_CF No - Im not biased Paradox! Liar! Entitled Asshole! How dare you! F#k OFF! You only save your own salary! not quite... Let me start with a personal reason.... I attended around 50 crypto conferences in the last 10 years and was on stage at a few of them. I was at 4 out of 5 Cardano Summits, spoke at 3 of them and my first one (Lausanne) convinced me to dedicate 100% of my available time to the vision that Cardano has and all you amazing people reflect. I often say that the reason why Im here was the professional, non-hype driven energy of Lausanne. For comparison: I went to Bitcoin Miami just before Lausanne, in a period where I was looking for a new professional residence, and while I got 2 good job offers during this insane conference with the most influential people and companies present, it was Cardano Summit, and you lot, that made me choose - and find my residence. The Cardano Summit is an extraordinary event and your critiques are valuable, heck, necessary, but killing it does more damage than you realize. It is NOT a crypto party for the elite.. even if you wish it was to underline your arguments. I was at plenty of crypto conferences that were actually just big parties. If you have been at the Summit, you know - it is not one of those. But I dont judge you for believing that happens. 2.5m sure sounds like it. It is the only event in Cardanoland thats tailored towards the projects and companies that do not exist on X. "STF Alex! Those are pipe dreams. Institutional Adoption never comes. Better pump bags with DeFi!" Well... - Draper. The audience and the impression of Dubai made on them mattered. Tim Draper himself announced in Berlin they chose Cardano and its builders to build out their portfolio of valuable companies. - Service Plan and Würth Group had massively successful announcements. One of them is running one of the most successful projects ever on Cardano right now - and the users dont even know they are using Cardano. Masumi. - Freakin' Nasa presented space part supply chains on Cardano at the summit two years ago. I mean.. wtf. With a better administration, and more institutional tooling, mainnet and putting this in production isnt far away. - Don Tapscott is a regular since 3 years, I interviewed him in Berlin for a podcast, and he brought more eyes to Cardano with his reach than any million could ever buy. - Volvo, Novo Nordisk, Orange, Boston Consulting Group, State Street, United Nations, Women in Tech, and many many MANY more were there just last year - and they either already ran projects on Cardano, or were strategically there to get an impression. I talked with 12 people in my little podcast studio, and backstage with a lot of speakers - all unilaterally had one thing to say: This crypto conference is different... for the better. The Cardano Summit is NOT for Cardano. Thats what Rare Evo, the Buidler Fest, Cardano Africa, and all the other amazing events in locations like IOs Buenos Aires office are for. They are valuable - but those dont attract many outsiders. Its cooking in our own kitchen. Comfortable, well known, but it tastes the same. The Cardano Summit is for those companies that seek professional residence - like i once did and having it just before Token 2049 (in fact, next door), which draws in 25'000 people outside of our ecosystem, will spill over to the summit. Holy shit. Epic. "yeah thats cool and all. still f#ck you CF. You are rich as f#k, dont deliver on your shit and are supposed to pay. you are just acting in your interest to survive." Dont worry, CF spends 45m every year and is on track to not exist anymore in about 5 years - we are extincting ourselves soon enough. and btw.. CFs internal cost to organize the event arent included in the budget. Everything we do is public: #page=27" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">…financialreport.cardanofoundation.org/#page=27

As a DRep, I decided to vote NO ❌for the proposal: Cardano Summit 2026 and TOKEN2049 Singapore My rationale: Cardano needs better marketing. Flagship events are important. The community should not condemn this idea for petty reasons. Seen pragmatically, Cardano must not disappear from the radar of the media, business, and governments. Given the current low price of ADA, I am afraid that we cannot fund two large events from the Treasury this year. Organizing two back-to-back events is a good idea. However, I am leaning towards the possibility of funding only one event. I propose to skip the Cardano Summit and focus only on TOKEN2049. Please split this proposal into two separate ones. I would probably support funding for participation in TOKEN2049 if the main organizer were the Cardano Foundation (CF). According to the Cardano Foundation's "path to sustainability" plan, the expected budget for the Summit in 2026 should be only $1.2M. Asking for $2.5 requires an explanation for the deviation from the plan. Community members complained that tickets were noticeably more expensive than in previous years for Summit 2025. Many fans were unable to attend the event because the total cost, including airfare and accommodation, was too high. The proposal should be more detailed. It should mention what the ticket price will be, how many sponsors are expected, and what the expected revenue is. Focusing on governance at Cardano Summit 2026 is not a good idea given the current problems with the centralization of voting power. It makes sense to discuss this among DReps, but maybe Google Meet is enough for that. Let's present governance to the world only when we ourselves are proud of it. If CF submits a new proposal for Summit, I recommend considering a change of topic. I would rather use 10M ADA to address governance issues than to fund the Summit at this time. I also recommend reducing costs or looking for other sources. The Cardano Summit will not be the only marketing-related proposal this year. I have heard of at least 3 other proposals that may require a similar amount. I appreciate the Cardano Foundation for everything it does for the community and the protocol. They have proven many times in the past that they are capable of organizing the Summit. With regard to the Treasury, it is necessary that this flagship event is sustainable. Alternatively, the costs respect the current price of ADA. We all have skin in the game. If we want to do spectacular events, we must first think about how to get Cardano back into the top 10. If you'd like to support my work, consider delegating to the MANDA pool and backing me as a DRep. Your support is the only way I can get time for governance. Google Quantum AI's new paper surveys quantum vulnerabilities across the entire cryptocurrency landscape. Algorand is documented as having deployed post-quantum cryptography across multiple protocol layers — FALCON signatures, state proofs, native key rotation, and TEAL primitives for quantum-safe smart contracts. For builders and institutions evaluating quantum readiness, the record speaks for itself. Read the full paper from @Google: quantumai.google/static/site-as…

@JoeyMannarino Couldn't you fact-check this with AI? It takes 10 seconds.. France's retirement age is 64 not 62, and paid leave is 5 weeks not 6. It's hard to see this as anything but deliberate misinformation.

France has been in recession for years and is heading toward bankruptcy with one of the highest public deficits. Its productivity is at rock bottom. Workers retire at 62 and have 6 weeks of vacation. They keep importing hordes of African immigrants whom they support with benefits and pensions. Its automotive industry is completely outdated. How do you sustain this system when the baby boomer generation retires and public spending explodes? If you are a 20-year-old French, you should be very worried.

All work up to milestone 5 is completed and delivered, we just haven’t had the time to submit the milestones yet. The project is progressing without any delays with respect to the proposed timeline. All of this public discourse is because we haven’t bothered to go submit PoA to collect the milestone payments yet because we are more concerned about delivering a good product than about acquiring the funding quickly. We understand now that to the community this milestone board represents actual progress and not just “amount of money collected and amount of Google Docs sent to collect said money” and so we will be submitting all Proof of Achievement documents up to milestone 6 over the course of the next two weeks. Deposits, withdrawals, in-L2 transactions are all fully functional; our fork of Lace has full Midgard support implemented, and allows you to seamlessly transition between your Cardano funds and Midgard funds, as-well as deposit and withdraw directly in wallet. Happy to provide further clarification.
Cardano YOD₳@JaromirTesar

It seems some devs may still be willing to continue work on Midgard, provided there is clarity around funding. It seems that several milestones have not been delivered. Funds remain with Intersect. Let's ensure devs are paid. If helpful, I'm willing to facilitate a discussion.

@unclebobmartin If one TRULY believes in religion and afterlife, an infinite life, then 80+ years here would be NOTHING in comparison, and becoming what we label an "extremist"/radical should actually be the logical outcome.

I ended up missing it entirely. I sat down to get my night, tried the redemption process and it wouldn't work. Had to try another time. Life got in the way and ended up at work the last day. Couldn't get to it and missed it. Sucks being here since december 2017 and missing something so pivotal. My allegiance could have been rewarded. Ugh. I am still angry over it.

As much as i love NIGHT and the mission behind it... The claim process and redeem processes do not work well, and have not since day 1. First it was a ledger issue, then crosschain wasn't working, then the ledger stuff was fixed and then it wasn't. The entire thing was chaotic and not properly tested. Now, myself, along with several other people, have redemption dashboards that are not reflecting the value we saw in the claim process. I know it's crazy to complain about something that's "free", i just thought this entire process would be laid out a lot easier to maximize redemption claims. None of it makes sense to me, why do i need a PDF when i have direct access to the wallet i'm trying to make my claim from? Been holding ADA for 5 years and because i didn't save a pdf now my claim cannot be justified, even though i still have access to the same wallet that made the claim. None of this has to do with NIGHT mining, just simply claims from my ADA. Make it make sense. 1/60th of my supposed allotment.... Hindsight is 20/20 but the entire thing could of been done better and made entirely less confusing. Would love to take a stab at design and execution of a portal like that. Also, a big bold warning that if you don't save your PDF you are s.o.l. would of been nice. Definitely leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Hope everyone else is redeeming successfully, i am at the point of just saying f'it.

This @POTUS post was just 5 months ago. $ADA shot from 65¢ to $1.19 in just 1 hour. You've had exactly 164 days to load up since then. Did you? There is still time. #Cardano is on track to $8-10 this cycle IMO. All the ingredients for the perfect setup are right there.

@1Marc @UserDev2024 You still have templates that need to be interpreted using e.g. PHP right? So how should one achieve the same performance (purely static generated content) with say PHP?

@UserDev2024 The point is frameworks Astro/Next.js/SvelteKit/SolidStart/Nuxt all have the ability to generate HTML and cache it on a CDN and lazy load interactive features. Once you get there it will be fast. You could do this with PHP/Go/Ruby/etc forever, but the industry goes in circles.

If you ever see frameworks claiming "their framework is performant"... remember that they simply cached HTML on a CDN. Their framework isn't actually running. They used the framework to generate some HTML and put it on a CDN.
